Joe Biden’s lawless presidency suffered another massive setback.
Biden just suffered a historic rebuke at the Supreme Court and a whistleblower revealed the Biden Justice Department shielded Hunter Biden from felony charges.
And now Joe Biden got caught red-handed breaking the law in the biggest way ever.
Federal Judge Terry A. Doughty handed down a landmark ruling in the case of Missouri v. Biden.
Judge Doughty issued a temporary injunction banning White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and a host of White House officials from communicating with Big Tech companies after Judge Doughty found the administration pressured social media platforms to censor protected free speech during the COVID pandemic.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, a period perhaps best characterized by widespread doubt and uncertainty, the United States Government seems to have assumed a role similar to an Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth,’” Doughty wrote.
The attorneys general of Louisiana and Missouri sued the Biden administration over pressure on tech companies to censor critics of the administration’s vaccine mandates and COVID restrictions.
Past Supreme Court case law holds that the U.S. government cannot pressure private actors to engage in conduct that would otherwise be illegal for the government to undertake.
Then-White House press secretary Jen Psaki opened the door to this lawsuit when in 2021 she confirmed the existence of a White House enemies list which was a catalogue of accounts the administration demanded Facebook, Twitter and Google censor or ban because they opposed vaccine and mask mandates.
Discovery in this case showed that after Biden accused Facebook of “killing people” by allowing Americans to question taking the COVID vaccine, Facebook executives wrote the White House to inform them that they planned to change their policies to censor more Facebook groups and pages.
“A week later the Meta executive wrote to a Department of Health and Human Services official where he discussed changing company policies and removing several objectionable pages, groups and accounts spreading what the administration had identified as misinformation,” Deseret News reported.
Judge Doughty blasted this state-sponsored censorship regime as “the most massive attack” on free speech in the history of the United States of America.
“If the allegations made by Plaintiffs are true, the present case arguably involves the most massive attack against free speech in United States’ history,” Doughty continued. “In their attempts to suppress alleged disinformation, the Federal Government, and particularly the Defendants named here, are alleged to have blatantly ignored the First Amendment’s right to free speech.”
“Viewpoint discrimination is an especially egregious form of content discrimination,” Doughty stated. “The government must abstain from regulating speech when the specific motivating ideology or the perspective of the speaker is the rationale for the restriction.”
The left leveraged the ideological sympathies of the executives in Silicon Valley to begin censoring the internet after Donald Trump won the 2016 election.
That escalated during the COVID pandemic – where anyone who questioned if the virus originated in a lab or pointed out that all the mandates and restrictions failed got kicked off the internet – and reached a crescendo in the 2020 election with Facebook and Twitter censoring the Hunter Biden story.
But conservative justices believe the Constitution means what it says.
And Joe Biden’s censorship regime just lost big time.
