President Trump dropped one of his trademark surprises.
This one threw the 2026 election into chaos.
And Trump launched one Hail Mary that threw the 2026 election into chaos.
RealClearPolitics’ polling aggregator shows Democrats holding an 8.3% lead in the Congressional Generic Ballot question.
Polls from the New York Times and Siena found Democrats leading or tied with Republicans in five deep-red Senate races in Alaska, Texas, Ohio, Kansas, and Iowa.
Journalist Mark Halperin revealed that over 60 Republican strategists contacted him to express their fear that Halperin’s reporting of a blue Tsunami was either accurate or understating how bad the environment was for Republicans.
One of the issues Republicans always run into is that the Trump base will turn out for Trump, but not the establishment RINOs who are on the ballot in midterm elections.
Trump posted a video to social media urging voters to “pretend” that he was on the ballot and turn out for Republicans, citing statistics showing that when he is on the ballot, Republicans receive significantly more votes.
“In this election, I’m asking you to pretend I’m on the ballot. Whenever I’m on the ballot, we get 45% more votes,” Trump began.
“So I’m not on the ballot, but pretend I am because this is a big deal,” Trump said in one video encouraging people to vote early or by mail in the midterms,” Trump added.
The future of Trump’s presidency is on the line.
Democratic Socialist of America candidates are running on a platform of abolishing ICE, opening the border, and banning private health insurance.
That’s why Trump called 2026 “one of the most important elections of our lives.”
In a second post, Trump doubled down on his previous promise to send every American adult a $5,000 check if Republicans win the midterms.
“Only I can make you this promise. If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2026 midterm elections, I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America $5,000,” Trump declared.
Trump explained that the money coming from tariffs could offset the cost of mailing out these checks.
“We’re taking in massive amounts of money through tariffs and record economic success, but Democrat policies won’t allow this to happen. In fact, the opposite is going to take place.
They’re gonna raise your taxes, and they’re gonna destroy our country and certainly destroy our economy. It’ll be a 1929 disaster,” Trump exclaimed.
Trump also argued that the cost of the dividend check paled in comparison to the amount of money companies and countries were investing in America.
“The Trump dividend is approximately $1 trillion, but we have a record-setting $21 trillion that’s being invested in our country in just the last 15 months. So it’s actually a very easy thing to do for me, but the Democrats can never do it,” Trump concluded.
If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2026 Midterm Elections, I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America, $5,000! Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to signing those checks! pic.twitter.com/YOkESiUBrc

Trump’s election dividend attracted opposition from Democrats.
That was to be expected.
But Republicans like Ted Cruz also came out against the checks.
Countersignaling the leader of your party is normally frowned upon in the homestretch of an election.
Cruz, however, is eyeing a Presidential run in 2028, and he wants to establish himself as the Never Trump candidate.
