Hollywood releases political movies during election season in hopes of influencing Americans to vote for Democrats.
The latest propaganda slop didn’t work out as intended.
And Hollywood’s latest anti-Trump movie backfired when everyone saw one clip.
The Social Reckoning is Hollywood’s attempt to reverse the trend of free speech online that took hold ever since Elon Musk bought X.
This film, written by leftist West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin, presents a message that Facebook is to blame for the state of our politics because founder Mark Zuckerberg refused to censor Donald Trump.
A scene from the movie went viral on social media where a member of Zuckerberg’s legal team, played by comedian Bill Burr, pleaded with Zuckerberg, played by Jeremy Strong, to interfere in the election by censoring political speech that liberals didn’t like.
“You’re not fact-checking political ads?! ” Charlie whined.
“It’s a democracy. I believe in free speech,” Zuckerberg replied.
“Yeah, everybody does. This can’t be your answer,” Charlie ranted. “You’re like a crossing guard standing out in front of a school, but you’re not doing anything with your arms. So the cars are just plowing down the children, because it’s a democracy.”
“The voters aren’t children. They don’t need to be told to eat their vegetables,” Zuckerberg shot back.
“And how about just telling us which ones are vegetables, and which ones are clumps of dirt in the shape of a carrot,” Charlie raged.

Even liberal journalists mocked the scene for showing Zuckerberg as a free speech hero and his critics as un-American.
Taylor Lorenz still wears a COVID mask in 2026.
And even she wrote that all this movie showed is that Zuckerberg was right not to turn Big Tech into the arbiter of truth online.
“I wish Zuck DID say this fake speech because this fictional version of him is totally right!” Lorenz wrote on X. “It’s not Meta or [Zuckerberg’s] job to police speech and decide what the facts are or who the public should be able to hear from.”
The message of the ascendent socialist wing in the Democratic Party is that billionaires are the source of all evil in the world.
Yet leftist pundit Armand Domalewski noted this movie now established the Democrat Party’s position as begging billionaires to ride to their rescue and censor free speech online.
“How did a ‘tech billionaire should decide what politicians are allowed to say to voters’ somehow become the left-wing position in this argument”? Domalewski posted.
Others mocked the anti-free speech movie for actually serving as the best explanation for why censorship is wrong.
“I’m watching the scene and every time the Zuckerberg character rebuts some awful pro-censorship line from Bill Burr I’m muttering “based” and “even more based” and “yes this” and “exactly right, yes.” I suspect I’m not alone,” Reason Magazine’s Robby Soave stated.
