RINO Congresswoman Liz Cheney spent the last two years on a kamikaze mission to destroy Donald Trump.
But now it’s Cheney who has a lot of explaining to do.
And that’s because Liz Cheney got busted for hiding a massive secret that will leave Trump red with rage.
Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee opened Americans up to political IRS targeting by voting to obtain and release six years’ worth of Donald Trump’s tax returns.
House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal of Massachusetts then introduced legislation claiming it was necessary to codify into law that presidential candidates must release their tax returns.
“We should codify the system that we have discovered in recent days is not only dysfunctional, it’s nonexistent,” Neal stated.
Texas Congressman Kevin Brady is the top Republican on the Ways and Means Committee and Brady explained that no matter what fancy rhetoric the Democrats used to dress up this legislation it was simply designed to attack Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.
“While I would recommend it for all, the truth of the matter is at the end of the day this is political targeting,” Brady stated.
Some Democrats disagreed.
New Jersey Congressman Bill Pascrell said supporters of the bill “believe that we need to write it into the record that it is demanded of everybody who runs for the presidency.”
Donald Trump chose not to release his tax returns in 2016 or 2020 explaining that he was under audit.
That was true in both cases.
When Trump chose not to release his tax returns it unleashed a flurry of conspiracy theories about his tax returns containing evidence of criminal behavior or secret payments from Vladimir Putin as part of a scheme to steal the 2016 election.
None of these deranged conspiracies turned out to be true.
But if Donald Trump’s tax returns are now public many Americans are wondering why they can’t see members of Congress’s tax returns.
Liz Cheney was one of five Republicans to vote for the Democrats’ bill to force presidential candidates to make their tax returns public.
But many members of Congress personally enrich themselves while serving and no one gets to see their tax returns.
Liz Cheney — for example — entered Congress in 2017 with a net worth of $7 million.
But when Cheney left Congress her latest financial disclosure form showed her personal wealth ballooned to as much as $44 million.
“Since then, Cheney’s net worth has continued to grow–perhaps significantly. According to her 2020 Personal Financial Disclosure form, Cheney declared her net worth was estimated between $10,422,023 and $44,140,000 stemming from assets valued between $10,432,024 and $44,155,000. Cheney reported no earned income, gifts, or transactions. Yet Cheney declared she held three posts, which include a trustee position at the University of Wyoming, a member of a holding company, and what appears to be her family’s trust,” Breitbart reported.
Americans would like to know how so-called “public servants” like Liz Cheney get so rich while holding elected office.
And Cheney and other creatures of the D.C. swamp could answer that question by releasing their tax returns.
Cheney and every other member of Congress choose not to.
But now that Democrats broke the seal on protecting privacy by releasing Donald Trump’s tax returns congressional Republicans are bound to retaliate.
