Democrats can usually count on Adam Schiff to stay relentlessly on message during media appearances.
But Schiff slipped up.
And Adam Schiff made one admission that will have Trump grinning from ear to ear.
Donald Trump ripped Joe Biden for weaponizing the justice system to influence the 2024 election.
Trump railed against the bogus indictment Joe Biden prosecutor Jack Smith filed against him for contesting the 2020 election where Smith can’t point to a law that makes any action Trump took illegal.
Instead, Smith stretched the meaning of a bunch of statutes – including one from the 1860s – to bend them past the point of all understanding to invent criminal conduct on Trump’s part.
Polls show that a conviction in the January 6 case – which is framed as Trump trying to overthrow the government despite Trump not being charged with that crime – would swing the election to Biden.
Smith and the Democrats know this case is a show trial pulled right out of Soviet Russia as the case is being tried in D.C. where the jury will be 100 percent Trump-hating Democrats and the judge is an Obama appointee who once worked at the same law firm as Hunter Biden.
The fix is clearly in.
But the case may never happen.
That’s because the Supreme Court correctly agreed to hear Donald Trump’s appeal of presidential immunity.
A president has never faced criminal charges before – because no political party went through a mental breakdown like Democrats did due to Trump – and the court rightly understands that unless they set some parameters, presidents will find themselves arrested every time the opposition party takes power.
The Supreme Court hearing the appeal means it’s nearly impossible for the case to go to trial before the election.
And in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Schiff admitted the point of the trial is having it before the election to meddle in the vote.
“I’m fearful that the Supreme Court is deliberately slow-walking this,” Schiff told the Times.
“The claim is borderline frivolous … they’re drawing it out just enough to make it almost infeasible to try [the cases] before the election,” Schiff continued.
“It’s still possible to get it done,” Schiff concluded. “And I think voters deserve to have that information.”
The Times let Schiff make these statements unchallenged.
But a real reporter would have asked Schiff why it matters if the trial takes place before the election.
If Schiff actually cares about “justice” or holding Trump to account, there shouldn’t be any objection to starting this trial the day after the election.
But Schiff and the Democrats don’t care about any of that.
They know this case is a fraud, and that by the time the Supreme Court overturns the conviction since there is no basis in law for these charges, it will have come far after the election and be too late to make a difference in Trump’s political fate.
