Kellyanne Conway managed Donald Trump’s victorious 2016 presidential campaign and then served for four years as one of his top advisors in the White House.
It’s safe to say Conway holds a lot of influence in Trump’s world.
And Kellyanne Conway made one major revelation about Donald Trump’s new VP.
If Donald Trump wins the GOP nomination for president next year, he is going to need a new running mate.
Trump’s selection takes on added importance because whomever Trump selects automatically becomes the heir to the MAGA movement in 2028.
For Republicans whose names have been floated as on the short list, every TV interview is an audition for the role as Trump’s running mate and 2028 Republican Party presidential frontrunner.
Conway conducted one of these auditions with South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem when Conway filled in for Sean Hannity on Fox News.
Conservatives praised Noem for being one of the few governors who never imposed a COVID lockdown or mask mandate.
But a blemish on Noem’s record was caving in to corporate interests to veto a bill banning men from competing in women’s sports before reversing course and signing the legislation.
Conway gave Noem a chance to respond to four left-wing radicals on the Colorado State Supreme Court declaring Donald Trump an insurrectionist – without a trial ever being held – and kicking him off the state’s ballot.
Conway wanted to know if Noem would take this precedent and use it to boot Joe Biden off the ballot.
“Governor Noem, would you be able to bar Biden from the ballot in your state of South Dakota if, say, he violated that part of the 14th Amendment by unfreezing assets for Iran or allowed terrorists to just openly walk over the southern border? I mean, do you think that you would have that power, your highest court would have that power?” Conway wondered.
Noem flubbed her answer and said she wouldn’t remove Biden from the ballot, saying she didn’t have the authority.
“The process that the court has is a balance to our federal government. It is a balance to our executive branch, a balance to our legislative branch, you know? So us exerting the kind of influence on the court and their decisions to take that kind of action is really unprecedented. So I trust our South Dakota state laws, our Constitution, it gives great guidance to us, and our court system understands that their job is to follow statute and give decisions based on the scales of justice. I am very proud of what we do here in South Dakota,” Noem stated.
“I would be hopeful that other states would do that and not let liberal judges rewrite the rules of the game to work for their political interests. This is where the Supreme Court should, and I hope will, take quick action, strong action to reverse this decision at the lower court and make sure that they do the right thing by the American people and make sure their voices are heard,” Noem concluded.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick floated the idea of kicking Biden off the ballot on the grounds that he supported insurrection by opening the border to an invasion of illegal aliens.
Conservatives wanted Noem to say that this precedent by the Colorado State Supreme Court gave her – and every other official tasked with overseeing elections – the ability to remove any candidate from the ballot for whatever reason they wished which is why this ruling threatens to end the republic.
Republican voters want to see Democrats forced to live under their own rules as opposed to a society where liberals make it up as they go along to invent new standards and norms that only apply to conservatives.
If Noem can’t understand how conservatives feel and tap into the zeitgeist then conservatives don’t believe she should be Donald Trump’s running mate.
