George Soros has a plan to stop Donald Trump from winning in 2024.
Soros just scored a major win in this fight.
And that’s because a judge slapped Donald Trump with some more awful legal news.
The George Soros-funded Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a lawsuit in Colorado to kick Donald Trump off the ballot claiming Section 3 of the 14th Amendment barred Trump from ever holding office again due to its prohibition on anyone who took an oath to the United States and engaged in “insurrection or rebellion” from holding public office.
Section 3 of the 14th Amendment reads:
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
CREW absurdly claimed Trump’s speech on January 6 amounted to “insurrection or rebellion.”
Trump’s lawyers argued all Trump stood accused of doing was exercising his First Amendment rights.
“At no time do Petitioners argue that President Trump did anything other than engage in either speaking or refusing to speak for their argument that he engaged in the purported insurrection,” Trump attorney Geoffrey Blue argued.
Blue also claimed that Section 3 of the 14th Amendment required an actual act of “insurrection or rebellion” writing that “the Fourteenth Amendment applies to one who ‘engaged in insurrection or rebellion,’ not one who only ‘instigated’ any action,” Blue wrote.
The other point of contention was CREW arguing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment was self-executing and that election officials could just unilaterally remove Trump from the ballot whereas the Trump lawyers argued it would take an act of Congress.
Judge Sarah Wallace handed Soros and CREW a huge victory by refusing to throw out this meritless lawsuit and instead allowing it to proceed to trial.
The argument Soros and CREW put forth is inherently anti-American and would be the end of democracy.
If CREW succeeds America will never have widely accepted elections again as partisan officials can just remove candidates from the ballot on their whim.
Should Democrats succeed in knocking Trump off the ballot in this suit Republican secretaries of state will respond in kind and remove Biden’s name.
No matter what happens at the trial court, this will end up before the Supreme Court.
Democrats see Joe Biden trailing in the polls so they are resorting to preventing Trump from winning by removing the ability of Americans to vote for him.
