Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman is on the outs with his party.
Many in Washington are wondering if he will switch parties and join the GOP.
And John Fetterman told Sean Hannity the one thing that will make him quit the Democrats.
John Fetterman votes with Democrats nearly all the time.
Fetterman supports amnesty for illegal aliens, abortion on demand until birth, Big Labor, banning and confiscating firearms, and transgender surgeries for children, and flies a pride fag outside his office.
But Fetterman supports Israel, the war in Gaza, and the war in Iran.
Democrats have turned on Fetterman as a result.
According to CNN’s Harry Enten, Fetterman’s favorability rating among Democrats plunged by 108 points, from plus 68 to minus 40.
In the past, Fetterman rejected a party switch as out of the question, writing in the Washington Post that he would “be a terrible Republican who still votes overwhelmingly with Democrats.”
Trump was unfazed and dispatched Sean Hannity with an offer to Fetterman to switch parties and run for re-election as a Republican with the complete backing of the Trump political machine.
“‘Your job is to tell him: He’s gonna run as a Republican, he’s gonna have our full support, more money than he ever dreamed of, and he’s gonna win big,’” Hannity said Trump instructed him to tell Fetterman.
Fetterman rejected that offer.
But in a subsequent interview with Hannity, Fetterman did say there was one thing that could cause him to leave the Democrat Party.
And that would be Democrats abandoning support for Israel’s right to exist and writing that into the party platform
“My real concern is that the Democratic Party is going to put it into the platform, you know, as an anti-Israel party, that Israel does not have the right to defend itself and to exist,” Fetterman stated. “And the second that becomes a formal part of our platform, that’s the one thing that would push me out of this party.”
Fetterman also expressed alarm at the growing anti-Semitism on the left.
“I’m deeply alarmed by the way the Democratic Party is going after Israel and allowing just rank anti-semitism to just flourish, you know, on the left and on the campuses too,” Fetterman continued.
The history of party switchers isn’t good.
Arlen Specter left the Republican Party in 2010 to join the Democratic Party after realizing he would lose a GOP primary.
Democrat Joe Sestak defeated Specter in a primary anyway.
That’s because party switchers can’t be trusted, and rank-and-file voters would rather pick someone from their own party they know they can count on to vote their values.
Fetterman in the GOP would be a disaster as well since he’s on record saying he will never abandon his support for amnesty for illegal aliens or transgender surgeries for kids.
Supporting Israel made Fetterman toxic in the Democrat Party, but it also isn’t enough to make him a Republican in good standing.
Fetterman is a man without a party who will likely forgo re-election in 2028.
