No President in modern history has faced the level of sabotage that President Trump has.
But not even Trump could imagine what was coming down the pike.
And now, Trump got some bad news about his remaining time in office that no one wanted to hear.
Texas Senator John Cornyn was the picture of the establishment RINO who talked conservative in an election year and voted like a liberal for the rest of his time in office.
Cornyn authored Joe Biden’s gun control bill and championed amnesty for illegal aliens.
In 2023, Cornyn urged GOP voters to move on to other Presidential candidates, claiming Trump was unelectable.
So it was no surprise that Trump endorsed Cornyn’s conservative primary challenger, State Attorney General Ken Paxton, despite Cornyn spending the last two years pretending to be Trump’s best friend.
Paxton thrashed Cornyn by nearly 30 points in the runoff.
Now that Cornyn was out of a job, he didn’t have any reason to keep up pretenses and could cut loose with how much he and other establishment Republicans resent Trump.
“If that’s the way friends treat you, you wonder about his enemies,” Cronyn told the New York Times, without a hint of self-awareness, as Cronyn was the one itching to dump Trump in the 2024 election.
“If he would do that to me, he would do that to anybody,” Conryn unironically went on to say. “There’s never going to be good enough for him, other than 100 percent, you know, slavish adherence to whatever he wants. But obviously that’s not what the senator’s role is supposed to be, especially in terms of checks and balances.”
Cornyn then predicted establishment Republicans would act to sabotage the Trump agenda as payback for Trump successfully priamrying jhimself and Louisiana RINO Bill Cassidy, who voted to convict Trump in the January 6 impeachment hoax.
“I think it is going to be a pretty bumpy ride for the next seven months,” Cornyn added.
“As the president told President [Volodymyr] Zelensky when he was in his office a year or so ago — he said, ‘You don’t have any cards.’ Well, we’ve got some cards to play,” Conryn went on to say.
Senate Republicans are making good on their revenge tour.
Cornyn declared his opposition to a provision in a settlement over the IRS illegally leaking Trump’s taxes to prevent a future Democrat administration from weaponizing the IRS to target Trump and his family.
“I think that’s a terrible mistake,” Cornyn continued. “The president needs to be treated like everybody else.”
Cornyn and other Senate RINOs killed the SAVE Act by refusing Trump’s call to eliminate the filibuster and torpedoed a $1.776 billion fund to compensate victims of weaponized government.
In the interview, Conryn also predicted that the midterms would be a “disaster,” that Republicans would have to spend more to help Paxton win, and that Democrats would make Trump’s last two years in office “miserable.”
“It’s going to make things harder, certainly more expensive in Texas, and make it harder around the country,” Cornyn concluded. “I don’t say that with any sort of desire for vengeance; I just think that’s the way it’s going to be. He’s going to have the most miserable two years of his life in the last two years of his term, I think, because I think November is going to be a disaster.”
Now that Cornyn doesn’t have to face the voters again, he can show his true anti-Trump colors.
