Trump and his White House advisors are livid at Fox News.
Fox News is showing its true colors at the worst time possible.
And all hell broke loose when Trump dropped this truth nuke about Fox News.
A hot mic caught White House advisor Peter Navarro ripping Fox News for refusing to turn on the camera and cover an administration announcement about new manufacturing projects.
“It’s unfortunate that much of the media is not covering this,” Navarro fumed. “Fox boycotted it. We didn’t have CNN there, or MS NOW, or any of that stuff. Didn’t have CNBC, Bloomberg. And this is the White House! It’s, like, their responsibility to cover stories like this.”
Trump promised Americans his “Liberation Day” tariffs would bring manufacturing jobs back to American shores.
This announcement of a new $15 billion steel plant in Iowa and a $6.6 billion submarine component manufacturing facility in Maryland was proof positive of the concept.
Growing the economy and making Americans’ lives better through fair trade policies is central to the Republican Party’s pitch to voters.
And Navarro let loose on Fox News for participating in a liberal media blackout of the administration’s accomplishments.
Navarro ripped Fox News as a collection of “RINOs” who pretend on camera to be conservatives to appease the audience, but once the red light goes off, their reporters will join the anti-Trump herd.
“I mean, Fox News in particular has gotta quit screwing around with this White House and with this country because they’re masquerading as Trump Republicans when all they are is what we call RINOs — Republican in name only,” Navarro added.
“They take advantage of you on camera. They throw you a little red meat about conservative issues that everybody agrees on, but when it comes to actually reporting things like tariffs or interference in our election systems or anything in between, Peter Doocy ain’t around. Fox isn’t around here,” Navarro concluded.
Navarro’s frustration echoed President Trump’s.
Trump eviscerated Fox News on Truth Social for not covering his rallies and filling up its pre-election airtime with Democrats.
“Sad to see that Fox & Friends (Sunday) is not covering our packed house and incredibly enthusiastic (beyond!) Rally that took place in Ohio last night, or the ones in Alabama, Texas, or Oklahoma over the past two days,” Trump began.
“These Election Rallies were representative of what is really happening with our great Republican Party. They were all sold out, with thousands of people trying to get in, and are absolutely phenomenal, better than ever! It’s the old undercurrent at Fox News!” Trump added.
Trump warned that if Fox News didn’t start giving Trump fair and adequate coverage, his base would abandon the network.
“Other networks are reporting about these Rallies, and really positively, like ‘crazy!’ Our people want to see our Rallies, and reports on our Rallies, on Fox News, or they will very quickly stop watching (like I am doing right now!),” Trump stated.
Trump ripped Fox for giving softball interviews to Democrats like that of host Martha MacCallum and Michigan Senate Democrat candidate Abdul El-Sayed in the heat of the election season.
“Fox spends more time talking to Communists, Socialists, and Democrats, often without rebuttal, and MAGA is not, to put it mildly, happy. We don’t like stupid Jessica Tarlov, and all of the others, that are forced down MAGA’S throats. These Rallies are the hottest things out there, tremendous love in those sold-out arenas, and nothing shows up on Fox!” Trump lamented.
“Who makes these decisions at Fox News?” Trump wondered.
Trump then criticized the network for yanking host Maria Bartiromo off the air after she alerted the White House to Fox News refusing to cover his speech about Communist China.
“Probably the same loser that fired the great Maria Bartiromo because she complained about not being allowed to cover ‘TRUMP.’ She’ll end up bigger and better than ever – watch! Cover our ‘happenings,’ and not the opposition to Greatness for America, or Fox News will soon have the ratings of FAKE NEWS CNN or MSNOW (MSDNC).” Trump concluded.
Fox News appears to be making a bet that Trump is yesterday’s news, and it can move to trying to shape the post-Trump future of the GOP in the hopes of pushing Republicans back ot the days of George Bush, John McCain and Mitt Romney.
