Democrats’ patience with Joe and Jill Biden is at an end.
The left was already furious with the Bidens for Joe running for re-election when he was obviously cognitively impaired.
And the knives are out for Jill Biden after she made this insane claim on national TV.
Jill Biden set off a firestorm when she claimed in an interview on CBS that she had never seen her husband look as mentally decrepit as he did during the debate with Donald Trump.
“I wasn’t horrified, I was frightened,” Biden stated. “Because I had never, ever seen Joe like that — before or since. Never.”
Jill Biden then went on to claim that her husband’s behavior was so out of the ordinary that she feared her husband was experiencing a stroke on live TV.
“I mean, as I watched it, I thought, Oh my God, he’s having a stroke. And it scared me to death,” Biden added.
Democrats and the liberal media spent four years torching their own credibility with Americans by claiming with a straight face that videos showing Joe Biden acting senile were “cheap fakes” and that it was a “conspiracy theory” to claim Biden suffered from mental enfeeblement.
Jill Biden’s claim that her husband’s debate night meltdown was so out of the ordinary that she worried he was suffering from a medical emergency was too much for Democrats and the left to swallow.
Axios’s Alex Thompson, who co-authored the book “Original Sin” with CNN’s Jake Tapper about Democrats covering up Biden’s cognitive decline, appeared with Tapper on CNN and reported that Democrats were furious with Jill Biden for reopening this wound.
“Well, a lot of Democrats, including several Biden aides that I’ve talked to since yesterday when this interview came out, just simply don’t believe her,” Thompson told Tapper.
Thompson and Tapper weren’t brave truth tellers
Their book only came out after Joe Biden left office, and it attempted to shift blame from the press for lying about Biden’s mental state.
Thompson went on to say that after the debate, Jill Biden appeared at rallies and led crowds on “four more years” chants and led the fight for Biden to remain in the race, even as Nancy Pelosi and other Democrat Party luminaries sought to force Biden to drop out.
“Because, you have to remember, going back to that night afterward, she then took Joe Biden to a rally where he spoke, where she led a chant of ‘four more years,’ and then afterward went to a Waffle House. They then flew overnight to North Carolina, had like a mini-rally when they landed, and they had a big rally where she introduced Joe Biden the next day. And a lot of former Biden aides…have told me if you really believed he might be having a stroke, that it’s not necessarily the same behavior that you would do. There’s no evidence that there was any significant medical exam afterward,” Thompson added.
Thompson said Democrats were furious that Jill Biden interjected herself and the Biden cognitive decline cover-up into the news cycle at a time when polls show Democrats are in line for a good midterm election.
“And, you know, a lot of Democrats think that this is simply unhelpful to come out at this moment and try to rewrite this portion of history,” Thompson said. “Especially given that many of the top Biden aides, the loyalist aides that still insist that Joe Biden could have won — that the Democratic party overreacted — They have said since the 2024 election, they’ve gone before Congress and said ‘It was only a few bad answers. The debate was not that bad, and the Democratic party overreacted,” Thompson continued.
Jill Biden’s reminder to voters that they can’t trust Democrats to govern could derail momentum heading into November.
“And then for the first former first lady to come in and say that she was ‘frightened’ and that she thought her husband, the president, ‘might been having a stroke.’ You know, I have to say that there is a significant skepticism that she is trying to rewrite this narrative right now,” Thompson concluded.
