For the first time since 2012, a Republican Party presidential primary will take place without Donald Trump on the ballot.
That leaves the voters a choice about the future direction of the party.
And Tucker Carlson just picked up one shocking endorsement to run for President in 2028.
Polls show Vice President JD Vance as the clear frontrunner for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination.
President Trump continues to hint that he plans to endorse a Vance-Rubio ticket.
But not everyone is ready to fall in line.
Neocons and establishment RINOs are gearing up to support Texas Senator Ted Cruz for President in the hopes of restoring the Bush wing’s dominance of the GOP.
Some of the podcasters who supported Trump in 2024 would also like to see the party go in a different direction.
Former CNN and MSNBC anchor Rick Sanchez asked Owens about a recent focus group where participants named her as someone they would like to see run for President.
“Let me ask you a very important question. Because you may have heard this, you may not have heard this, but there’s a buzz out there in America that you would make a great next president of the United States. I apologize for asking,” Sanchez asked Owens.
Owens rejected the idea of ever running for office.
“No, you’re fine. I always tell my listeners I’d never run for president — I’d only run for dictator — because I’m not dealing with Congress, I’m not dealing with lobbying, I am not dealing with any of this, I am not dealing with Lindsey Graham calling for another war,” Owens began.
Owens then named Tucker Carlson as someone she could support if he ran for President, saying she would help him the same way Charlie Kirk helped President Trump win from the outside.
“I’m just going to be like, “Here’s what we’re doing and here’s what we’re not doing.” So I tell them, vote for me if the terms are acceptable, that I will be dictator of the United States, and that is it. But in the short run, I really don’t have an interest in running for office because there is just too much inauthenticity — also, you know, the great letdown of Trump. I would be interested in strongly getting behind someone like Tucker Carlson, though. Would you? I would. And so I would love for him to run, and I would create the dynamic that me and Charlie had and run all over to help him get elected because he–,” Owens added before Sanchez interjected.
“And Tucker was also very fond and friendly with Charlie Kirk,” Sanchez stated.
Owens agreed and went on to say that, before his assassination, Kirk’s two big issues were stopping an amnesty bill and another war in the Middle East, which are two causes near and dear to Carlson.
“He was, and to see him be one of the lone voices — I would also say Megyn Kelly, who told the truth about Charlie shifting perspectives toward the end — just only further committed me. He’s also at a great place in his life; his children are older. I would gladly get behind someone like Tucker Carlson,” Owens added.
Polls show Carlson in the single digits among potential GOP 2028 primary voters.
Carlson has said on many occasions that he has no desire to run for President.
Carlson is also close friends with Vice President Vance, and there is no way Carlson would ever challenge Vance, whom Carlson is on record saying he would like to see elected the next President of the United States.
