Tucker Carlson hosts one of the most popular podcasts in the world.
But Carlson nearly found himself in a whole heap of trouble.
And Tucker Carlson was detained in this foreign country in an unreal incident.
Tucker Carlson traveled to Israel to interview U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee about the treatment of Christians in Israel and the West Bank.
The trip came as Huckabee and other Republicans, like TexasSenator Ted Cruz and media personalities Ben Shapiro, spent months smearing Carlson as an anti-Semite because he questioned America fighting a war against Iran for Israel, and his interview with controversial commentator Nick Fiuentes.
Cruz wants to run for President in 2028 to drag the GOP back to its pre-Trump stature.
Ben Shapiro declared himself Never Trump in 2016 and opposed Trump in 2024.
The attacks against Carlson are mounted as a proxy war against Vice President J.D. Vance for the 2028 GOP Presidential nomination, since Carlson is friends with Vance.
That was the backdrop for Carlson’s trip to Israel.
When Carlson was leaving Israel, he revealed that Israeli security stopped him at the Ben Gurion Airport and detained his crew.
“Men who identified themselves as airport security took our passports, hauled our executive producer into a side room, and then demanded to know what we spoke to Ambassador Huckabee about,” Carlson said in an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail. “It was bizarre. We’re now out of the country.”
The U.S. Embassy then released a bizarre statement defending Israel and attacking an American citizen.
But the statement essentially confirmed Carlson’s version of events.
“It is not accurate that Israel was only going to let Tucker into the country for the interview. The only engagement the Embassy had with Israel about his visit was to coordinate his private plane landing as part of facilitating a seamless visit. It was Tucker who chose to only come into the country for a few hours and depart. And Tucker received the same positive treatment as any visitors to Israel,” the statement read.
Israel almost banned Carlson from entering the country in the first place, but the government realized that censoring a Christian critical of the Israeli government would serve to prove Carlson’s point.
Bar Shem-Ur of HaTzinor reported that “Israeli government officials considered in recent days preventing Carlson’s entry into the country, similar to the recent action that blocked the entry of pro-Palestinian delegations from the United States. However, in the end, it was decided not to take that step due to his status as a mega-influencer and the concern that doing so would lead to a “diplomatic incident” and an event that would harm Israeli hasbara.”
