President Trump’s hot-and-cold relationship with Fox News is arctic frigid at the moment.
Trump wasn’t happy with what he saw on TV.
And Trump Ripped Fox News to Shreds for One Election Night Hoax.
Election Night didn’t go as Trump and his supporters hoped.
Democrats swept to power in the House and the Senate.
Trump followed the returns on Fox News, and what he saw infuriated him.
Fox News brought on socialist former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who allowed crime and homelessness to overtake the city, on the air to gloat about the Democrat victories.
Trump was none too pleased with this development and made his displeasure known on Truth Social.
“Why does Fox News have Bill de Blasio, the Worst Mayor in the History of New York City, on air, ranting and raving like a Lunatic? He left the City in disgrace, and the damage he caused was incalculable — It has never been the same, and now he’s telling us how to run America. Fox News bears responsibility for these losses by constantly and consistently putting on the Democrat opposition, and worse,” Trump wrote.
But Trump aired a more substantive grievance with the network when he called in for a phone interview with Brett Baier and Martha MacCallum.
Texas Democrat James Talarico became the first Democrat since Lloyd Bentsen in 1988 to win a Senate race in Texas.
Establishment Republicans seized on Trump-endorsed Ken Paxton losing this race to claim Republicans needed to stop nominating conservatives and that they made a mistake by choosing Paxton over pro-amnesty incumbent John Cornyn.
Baier pressed this line of attack with Trump with a question about candidate quality
“Candidate quality, do you have regrets about Ken Paxton or Darlene Graham?” Baier wondered.
Trump endorsed Paxton with a week to go before the primary, when polls showed Paxton winning by double digits.
Those same primary polls also showed Cornyn would have lost to Talarico.
It’s an establishment lie to claim Cornyn was “electable.”
And Trump called out Fox News for this falsehood and noted that Cornyn wanted to dump him before 2024 by claiming Trump was unelectable.
“I had no choice. Ken Paxton, he’s a good guy, and I just wasn’t a fan of Cornyn. I just wasn’t a fan. I found him to be a disloyal guy. He was not a fan of mine,” Trump stated.
Trump noted Cornyn’s disloyalty and jabbed Fox News by reminding Baier he could say the same about the network.
“You know, to be honest, when it wasn’t fashionable, he wasn’t there. You could say that about a lot of people. I could say that ABOUT YOU,” Trump added.
“When it wasn’t fashionable to be with Trump, he [Cornyn] wasn’t there. When it was fashionable, he kissed my ass, all right?” Trump concluded.
