President Trump isn’t known for mincing words.
Trump gets right to the point.
And Trump asked Trey Gowdy one question that sent shockwaves across the globe.
In an interview with Gowdy on his Sunday Night in America Fox News show, Trump called out America’s so-called allies, specifically South Korea, for their lack of help with the war against Iran.
Trump ripped countries like South Korea and those in NATO, who freeload off the American taxpayer.
“We got very little help from other countries,” Trump told Gowdy. “And we help other countries; we spend billions and billions of dollars helping NATO and other countries.”
Trump noted that South Korea turned down America’s request for help despite the fact that the U.S. stations 28,500 troops there that essentially serve as a tripwire to prevent North Korea from invading.
“South Korea, as an example. We helped them, but when it came to helping us, I didn’t put on a heavy sell, but I just said, ‘Would you like to participate?’ and they all said, ‘No, thank you.’ And I said, ‘I’m going to remember that to myself,’” Trump added.
Trump then said if South Korea wasn’t willing to help us, why should the American taxpayer fund their national defense?
“So you could say we are going to make a lot of money, because when they’re not willing to go for you, you just can’t be a stupid person and help them,” Trump continued.
They want our help. We have thousands and thousands — like, in South Korea, as an example, we have 40,000 soldiers over there. And I said, ‘Would you mind giving us a little hand with Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran?’ And they say, ‘Well, we’d rather not.’ And I said, ‘OK, thank you very much. I appreciate it.’”
“But I think you have to remember this stuff,” Trump continued. “I really do.”
Trump made good on that promise as he ordered Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to scale back military exercises with South Korea that Trump hinted was connected to their refusal to help with Iran.
“Based on my very good relationship with Kim Jong Un of North Korea, I am not happy with the fact that the United States has, long ago, agreed to participate in Joint Military Exercises with South Korea. These exercises are not only costly, with much of these costs paid for by the United States of America (as usual!), but also send a signal that is totally inappropriate and hostile to a Country that, as long as Donald J. Trump has been President, has been unthreatening and respectful.
Therefore, and based on the fact that it is too late to cancel, I have instructed the Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to substantially reduce the Joint Military Exercises! While somewhat unrelated (?), I recently asked the President of South Korea if they would like to join us in the Denuclearization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and they said, “No thanks!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Americans elected Trump twice to put America first and end America’s involvement with globalist alliances and institutions that expect taxpayers to foot the bill.
Trump is making good on that.
