Joe Biden is facing mounting legal and political jeopardy.
There is more bad news on the way.
And Trey Gowdy dropped the hammer on Joe Biden facing criminal charges.
On a recent episode of The Trey Gowdy Podcast the former South Carolina congressman asked a listener a question about if red-state prosecutors could charge Joe and Hunter Biden with crimes.
This issue came up during Donald Trump’s presidency as the district attorney of Manhattan began a witch hunt into Trump over Trump’s finances.
The investigation went nowhere but George Soros-backed prosecutor Alvin Bragg picked up the baton on taking over the Manhattan DA’s office and eventually indicted Trump on the phony falsifying business records charges.
Gowdy explained that the current rules in place prevent a Republican state attorney general or prosecutor from arresting Joe Biden and forcing him to stand trial while he is president.
But Gowdy did leave open the possibility of Joe Biden facing criminal indictment and then standing trial upon leaving office.
“The current DOJ guidance is a sitting president cannot stand trial although technically I suppose you could be indicted with the trial indefinitely postponed until you are no longer president,” Gowdy stated.
Gowdy said that would raise issues of bond so for the purposes of this exercise Gowdy said Biden could not face criminal charges while president.
Hunter Biden – however – was fair game and once Biden left office red-state prosecutors could slap Joe Biden with as many criminal charges as they could prove.
Gowdy explained that this is why many conservatives warned Democrats they tread on a dangerous path by enlisting their most partisan prosecutors to bring criminal charges against Trump once he declared he was running for re-election.
“Others can be. Which is sort of the point folks on the right are making,” Gowdy continued.
“This game of indicting your rivals can be played by both sides,” Gowdy added.
Gowdy said he could name a list of Republican state attorneys general who would like a crack at the Bidens and if they could prove to a grand jury that Hunter and Joe Biden committed a crime they could move forward with prosecution.
“I can rattle off the names of multiple Republican State Attorneys General…so yes, if you have jurisdiction, if you meet the elements of the offense, if the grand jury issues a true bill, then yes, state prosecutors can go forward,” Gowdy concluded.
Republican state attorneys general and prosecutors could look at the evidence on Hunter Biden’s laptop where he allegedly paid prostitutes with money provided by Joe Biden as the elements of a criminal case against the two.
There are a host of other financial and tax crimes that could potentially be on the table against Joe and Hunter Biden.
The point Gowdy is making is that Democrats set the precedent with these phony cases against Donald Trump and they can expect Republicans to reciprocate in kind with actual charges against the Bidens.
