Establishment RINOs learned yet again that Donald Trump is the one who calls the shots in the Republican Party.
The swamp suffered a massive defeat.
And RINOs cried tears of rage when Trump made this bold move.
After weeks of sitting on the sidelines, President Trump finally jumped into the Texas Senate runoff between RINO incumbent John Cornyn and conservative challenger, State Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Trump stunned the swamp by endorsing Paxton in the May 26 contest, likely dealing a fatal blow to Cornyn’s candidacy.
“The Highly Respected Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, an America First Patriot, and someone who has always been extremely loyal to me and our AMAZING MAGA MOVEMENT, is running for the United States Senate, to represent a place I love and WON, BIG, three times, with 6.4 Million Votes in 2024 (The Most Votes in the History of the State, BY FAR)!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Cornyn’s fellow Senate RINOs spent weeks begging Trump to endorse Cornyn, falsely claiming that Cornyn stood a better chance of defeating Democrat James Talarico.
After Trump endorsed Paxton, Senate RINOs whined to the nearest fake news reporter.
“I don’t understand. He is an ethically challenged individual,” Maine Republican Susan Collins said of Paxton.
Some baselessly claimed that Trump’s endorsement of Paxton would hand the race to Democrats,
“Based on the numbers that I’ve seen, yeah,” Alaska RINO Senator Lisa Murkowski told reporters. “How does that help strengthen the president’s hand when we lose a state like Texas?”
Others were too enraged to even speak.
According to The Hill, Mississippi’s Roger Wicker “remained completely silent with his head bowed as he walked into the Tuesday lunch meeting, ignoring several reporters’ questions about the endorsement.”
In his post endorsing Paxton, Trump explained that Cornyn opposed him in the 2024 Presidential primary and wasn’t there for Trump when Democrats waged lawfare against him.
“John Cornyn is a good man, and I worked well with him, but he was not supportive of me when times were tough and, despite having the Most Successful Economy in the History of our Country during my First Term,” Trump stated.
In 2023, Cornyn refused to endorse Trump’s candidacy and even went so far as to smear Trump as “unelectable.”
“I think President Trump’s time has passed him by,” Cornyn told Texas reporters. “And I think what’s the most important thing for me is that we have a candidate who can actually win.
“I don’t think President Trump understands that when you run in a general election, you have to appeal to voters beyond your base,” Cornyn said at the time.
Cornyn is a strong supporter of amnesty and even went so far as to say he ran for another term in 2026 so he could pass an amnesty bill in the next Congress.
And it was that support of amnesty that likely led Cornyn to try to expel Trump from the GOP before the 2024 election.
But all that ultimately accomplished was running Cornyn out of the party.
