Donald Trump is known for the unexpected.
And even though polls show Trump way out in front of his Republican rivals Trump has a major trick up his sleeve.
And Kellyanne Conway revealed Donald Trump is about to pull the biggest surprise of 2024.
The first GOP presidential primary debate is slated for August 23 and Fox News will televise the event.
Donald Trump’s up in the polls by over 30 points and the 45th president told Fox he saw no upside to appearing alongside rivals he was crushing and granting them equal footing.
“When you have a big lead, you don’t do it,” Trump stated. “Why would you let somebody that’s at 0 or at 1 or 2 or 3 be popping you with questions?”
But Trump may keep people guessing right up until the day of the debate as to if he will show up.
Trump White House Senior Counselor Kellyanne Conway told Fox News host Martha MacCallum that she made the case to Trump in private that he should show up to the debate as his performances in the early primary debates eight years ago cemented his trajectory towards the nomination and eventually the White House.
“On the other hand, that’s a natural habitat for him,” Conway told MacCallum. “It helped him in that first Fox News debate on Aug. 6, 2015, in Cleveland. He got center stage, he never lost it, became the nominee and indeed the president.”
Conway also hinted that Trump is open to changing his mind about skipping the debate.
“If I were you, I would keep that center podium warm because maybe he’ll make the announcement the day of,” Conway added. “You just never know.”

Right now the state of the GOP race is a Trump blowout.
The Real Clear Politics polling average shows Trump leading his nearest competitor by 34 points.
New Fox News polling out of Iowa and South Carolina show Trump holding 30 and 34 points respectively.
Even Conway conceded that Trump skipping the debates is what a frontrunner would typically do.
In addition to Trump not seeing the value in granting statute to opponents he leads by wide margins in the polls Trump is also still furious at Fox News over what he sees as biased coverage.
Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch is reportedly supporting DeSantis and Trump saw Fox News devote more airtime to DeSantis campaign events than his.
After Fox News hemorrhaged viewers following firing Tucker Carlson, network executives held out hope that the GOP primary and the ensuing debates would allow Fox to regain the lost audience.
But Trump knows he is the biggest drawing card and is not in the mood to do Fox any favors and help them out.
