The Democratic Party wasn’t prepared for this.
This loss will change everything.
And Pam Bondi delivered some bad news that hit Democrats like a freight train.
Attorney General Pam Bondi celebrated a 2-1 ruling in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals that approved the administration’s detaining illegal aliens without a bond hearing.
Bondi hailed the ruling as a shot across the bow of rogue Democrat judges who were trying to veto President Trump’s illegal immigration crackdown by ordering the administration to release illegal aliens back on the streets, where they could then avoid deportation.
“Tonight our @TheJusticeDept attorneys secured yet another crucial legal victory in support of @POTUS Trump’s immigration agenda.
The Fifth Circuit just held illegal aliens can rightfully be detained without bond – a significant blow against activist judges who have been undermining our efforts to make America safe again at every turn,” Bondi wrote on X.

At issue was a 1996 law passed by Congress and signed by Bill Clinton is at issue in this case.
Previous administrations didn’t enforce a provision of the law that allowed for detaining illegal aliens without a bond hearing.
But Judge Edith Jones, writing for the majority, explained that just because past administrations chose not to enforce that section of the law didn’t render it unconstitutional.
“The text says what it says, regardless of the decisions of prior Administrations,” the majority opinion read. “…In any event, that prior Administrations decided to use less than their full enforcement authority…does not mean they lacked the authority to do more.”
This decision only applies to Texas and Louisiana, which are where the majority of illegal alien detainees reside.
Other jurisdictions are also considering this question.
It’s a sure bet that Democrat judges will try to block the policy by issuing their own rulings striking it down.
Different circuit courts issuing conflicting rulings guarantee that the Supreme Court will take up this case at the next opportunity.
