Democrats are counting on the 2026 midterms to hand them control of the Senate.
Barack Obama sat down with Democrat donors in a closed-door setting.
And Barack Obama delivered a terrifying warning about the polls that will leave Democrats in a panic.
Real Clear Politics currently projects Democrats to win the Senate majority with 51 seats.
But with just three weeks to go before Election Day, anything can happen.
Republicans hold a money and turnout operation edge.
The Senate battleground is also being fought in states that Trump won by double digits.
In a meeting with Democrat donors in Virginia, Barack Obama expressed his shock that ruby red states like Texas, Kansas, Iowa, and Ohio were now in play.
“There are states right now in play that I would not have imagined being in play,” Obama told attendees.
Obama cited James Talarico’s lead over Ken Paxton in Texas as the type of race Democrats never imagined they could win.
“If you had told me — and I know I’m the hope guy — but if you had told me that the polling currently shows James Talarico ahead of Ken Paxton … I would have said, eh, I don’t think so,” Obama added.
RINO incumbent John Cornyn is helping Democats, as Paxton told a crowd at a fundraiser that Cornyn claimed Republicans need to learn a lesson that ousting pro-amnesty moderates like him in primaries in favor of conservatives like Paxton is a mistake.
However, Talarico’s lead in Texas, like the ones Democrats hold in Maine, Ohio, Minnesota, Alaska and Iowa, is all within the margin of error.
Obama said that fact should terrify Democrats.
“All these races that are showing we’ve got a two- or three-point lead, or it’s a toss-up, we could end up losing all of them by two points,” Obama started.
“It’s within the margin of error,” Obama continued.
The average polling error in Senate races favors Democrats by about three points.
A normal polling error means Democrats lose all the toss-up races.
That reality of polls being biased against the GOP combined with the Republican money edge means the GOP can drown Democrats in negative ads about their socialist record, and that could make the difference between Republicans maintaining their Senate majority or not.
Obama’s job was to convince the donors to open their wallets in the home stretch, and if scaring them about the close polls wasn’t enough, Obama then played the hits about Trump being a threat to democracy because of the Supreme Court.
“If you get two more years of Trump acting with impunity, along with additional judicial appointments, so that at some point the scales may tip in the direction where he’s got carte blanche, you now have a very serious danger to democracy in addition to just bad policy,” Obama declared.
Obama admitted the court routinely ruled against Trump in major cases involving tariffs and birthright citizenship.
“We have seen it hold the line in some important areas. To the extent it has not, it’s been the Supreme Court,” Obama went on to say.
But Democrats’ ultimate goal is packing the Supreme Court and establishing a permanent leftist majority to erase the Second Amendment, legalize censorship, and create a “right” to American citizenship for illegal aliens.
Winning the Senate is step one in that plan.
