The Supreme Court is the one institution that Democrats don’t control.
That led to an escalating war on the justices.
And Democrats just revealed the worst-kept secret about the Supreme Court.
Democrats aren’t even bothering to hide it anymore.
Elected officials and candidates repeatedly telegraph their scheme to pack the Supreme Court if they win Congress and the Presidency in 2026 and 2028.
Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin helped lead the January 6 hoax to try and imprison President Trump.
In an interview on MS NOW, Raskin promised Democrats would wage more lawfare against Trump if they take back Congress in November.
“Democrats are on the case. We are trying to expose and counter every single assault on the rule of law. But obviously, the Republicans are still in control of Congress, at least until the end of this year. But if the elections go in favor of the Democrats, we will be able to counter this reign of lawlessness and corruption,” Raskin stated.
Raskin again attacked the Supreme Court as illegitimate for a ruling by Chief Justice John Roberts reversing a lawless order from the lower courts blocking the construction of President Trump’s ballroom.
“They’ve been monkeying around with the Supreme Court. So they try to get everything into the Supreme Court as quickly as they can. I do understand that this decision is not a permanent decision, but they’ve sided, at least provisionally, with the president and said that construction could proceed until they study the Constitution,” Raskin added.
Raskin falsely claimed the Supreme Court was a rubber stamp for Trump despite Trump’s own appointees betraying him in cases over tariffs and birthright citizenship.
In his rant, Raskin pointed to the Supreme Court ruling on Presidential immunity from criminal prosecution as a doctrine the court just invented.
“I’ve not been able to read the actual order yet, but I understand that’s what’s been said. Well, this is just going to be a seesaw battle between the district courts and the appeals courts, which are really adhering to the rule of law and to the Constitution. And then the Supreme Court, which is often just swept away with whatever Donald Trump wants them to see in the Constitution. The most graphic example of that, of course, was the court’s complete invention, out of thin air, of presidential immunity from prosecution for felony crimes actually committed in office under the auspices of the presidency,” Raskin concluded.
Presidents already possessed immunity from civil lawsuits for official acts.
The Supreme Court just extended that protection to prosecution for criminal acts.
A President can’t function if they fear the opposition will jail them and sue them into bankruptcy when they take power.
Raskin’s comments are meant to signal to Democrats that if they turn out in sufficient numbers in 2026 and 2028, Democrats will pack the Supreme Court, overturn the immunity ruling, and jail Trump.
