Beto O’Rourke. A guy with an Irish name changed to sound a little more Hispanic in the hopes of using identity politics to advance his political career has now been exposed.
A little too late, but exposed nonetheless.
It recently came to light that Beto O’Rourke was once involved in one of the most notorious hacking groups ever in existence.
Yes, that Beto, is a hacker.
What’s interesting about this information is it was kept under wraps for a long time.
Even though it was common knowledge that O’Rourke was involved in illegal activity for much of his teenage and early adult life.
O’Rourke and The Cult Of the Dead Cows
The Rueters news organization knew as early as 2017 that Beto O’Rourke was a member of one of the earliest hacking collectives, known as the Cult of The Dead Cows. ’
This hacking collective has a long history of “hacktivism” which is a kind of computer hacking aimed at taking down company websites in the name of the common good.
And while they knew about O’Rourke’s involvement in the group, they didn’t bring it up until the elections were over.
Apparently they knew that if O’Rourke was exposed as a hacker who was involved in illicit activity years ago it might harm his chance of receiving votes in the election.
Reuter’s writer Joseph Menn wrote on Friday, “While a teenager, O’Rourke acknowledged in an exclusive interview, he belonged to the oldest group of computer hackers in U.S. history.
Members of the hugely influential Cult of the Dead Cow, jokingly named after an abandoned Texas slaughterhouse, have protected his secret for decades, reluctant to compromise his political viability.
“O’Rourke’s membership in the group — notorious for releasing tools that allowed ordinary people to hack computers running Microsoft’s Windows, and also known for inventing the word ‘hacktivism’ to describe human-rights-driven security work — could explain his approach to politics better than anything on his resume,” Menn continued.
“His background in hacking circles has repeatedly informed his strategy as he explored and subverted established procedures in technology, the media and government.”
The Story Could Harm His Presidential Chances
Even though the story of Beto’s hacking enthusiasm hit after the 2018 elections, there’s a chance that this knowledge coming to light now could harm his chances of running in 2020.
That’s because the story shows teenage Beto O’Rourke was a deeply disturbed individual.
It showed Beto fantasized about killing children when he was a youth, and it also exposed his proclivity for theft, as the story details how O’Rourke used his hacking skills in the theft of services.
O’Rourke “pilfered long-distance service ‘so I wouldn’t run up the phone bill’” when he was connecting to bulletin boards, something that could have been a felony in Texas if O’Rourke pilfered over $1,500 of service.”
Hopefully now that this information is public it will cause Democrats to take a long hard look at him and his savior-complex will end before it ever really started.
