Nancy Pelosi went out and lied to the American people about George Floyd’s death.
She has no shame using the tragic death for her political gain.
Nancy Pelosi said three words on the George Floyd case that instantly backfired.
George Floyd’s death while in police custody with three times the fatal dose of fentanyl in his system after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck was a tragedy.
The case that emerged with evidence was far more complicated than the shocking first video appeared to show. Yet in the minds of the Democrats, Chauvin’s guilt was determined before the case even started.
This is despite the fact that Floyd took drugs before his arrest and appeared distressed before police arrived on the scene.
A famous congresswoman, Rep. Maxine Waters, went to a location near the trial and told protesters to get more confrontational if they didn’t get the verdict that they wanted, to a jury that was not even sequestered.
President Joe Biden said he was “praying” for the jury to reach the “right verdict” as the jury deliberated.
For Democrats the trial isn’t about looking closely at the facts to determine whether Chauvin was innocent.
The prosecution wouldn’t offer immunity to Floyd’s alleged drug dealer who was with Floyd during the arrest and a key witness because this isn’t about truth, it’s about a narrative that America is still systematically racist and the police are as well.
The left has made Floyd into a martyr and a saint because his death can be used to further their cause.
No one made this clearer than Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who thanked Floyd for “sacrificing your life.”
“And thank God, the jury validated what we saw, what we saw,” Pelosi said in front of the U.S. Capitol Building. “So, again, thank you George Floyd for sacrificing your life for justice. For being there to call out to your mom. How heart-breaking was that? To call out to your mom, ‘I can’t breathe.’ But because of you – and because of thousands, millions of people around the world who came out for justice – your name will always be synonymous with justice.”
She was immediately blasted for the remark online.
“Nancy Pelosi just said ‘Thank you, George Floyd, for sacrificing your life for justice’ and this, in a nutshell, is everything that’s wrong with faux woke liberalism,” conservative talk radio host Dan O’Donnell tweeted.
“Time to retire,” The Kansas Green Party wrote.
“You have to imagine Pelosi tried that line out on people around her earlier and they nodded along as if it wasn’t one of the most offensive things they’d ever heard,” tweeted Ryan Grim, the DC bureau chief of The Intercept.
Even CNN called the comment “stunningly tone-deaf.”
Yet while the left may object to Pelosi’s specific words, they have all tried to fit Floyd’s life into their narrative rather than looking at facts.
