Adam Schiff is back at it.
Schiff is trying to whip up a new scandal to wreck President Trump and hand Democrats the 2020 election.
Trey Gowdy slammed the breaks on that by dropping the hammer on Adam Schiff. This is what he said on Fox News.
Now that the impeachment witch hunt ended in humiliating defeat for Democrats, Adam Schiff and allies returned to their bread and butter for generating hysteria– the Russian collusion hoax.
The New York Times published a supposed “bombshell” story claiming the Office of Director of National Intelligence’s expert on election security briefed the House Intelligence Committee on Russia’s alleged plot to help Donald Trump win re-election in 2020.
Donald Trump fired his acting Director of National Intelligence Joe Maguire for insubordinate behavior after the President learned of this briefing from House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes instead of Maguire.
President Trump also questioned why Maguire allowed his staffer to mischaracterize the intelligence – reports indicate the evidence did not in fact show that Russia wanted Trump to win the election and was working on his behalf – in a way that would allow Adam Schiff to weaponize the information against the President.
And that is exactly what happened.
The Times report based their story on five sources in the classified briefing and many conservatives believe Schiff was the chief source feeding this fake news to the Times.
In an interview on Fox News, Trey Gowdy shut down this effort by Schiff to resurrect the Russian collusion hoax by laying out three key facts.
To begin with – Gowdy explained – it made no sense that Russia would favor Trump over Democrat Party frontrunner Bernie Sanders since both Donald Trump and Democrats like Mike Bloomberg called him a communist.
Sanders also honeymooned in Moscow and compared Russia favorably to the American way of life.
“Three things,” Gowdy began. “Number one, I don’t know anyone who really thinks that Russia prefers Donald Trump to win over Comrade Sanders, I don’t know a soul that really thinks Russia wants Donald Trump to be the president instead of the guy that honeymooned in Russia.”
Gowdy continued by pointing out the sorry track record of the Deep State intelligence community in lying to the American people to advance the Democrat Party agenda.
“Number 2, is this the same intelligence community that told us it was a spontaneous reaction to a video in Libya and the same intelligence community that promised us weapons of mass destruction and the same intelligence community that relied on the dossier?” Gowdy continued. “I have respect for them but they aren’t polygraph machines.”
Finally, Schiff finished up his takedown of Schiff by pointing out the President’s fears about the briefing – that Schiff would use it against him in the election – were born out by the fact that Schiff raced to leak the contents of the briefing – even though the official who delivered the briefing overstated the findings – to the New York Times so the Times could publish a misleading attack piece on the President.
“They gather information and make assessments and they give them, unfortunately they give them to people like Adam Schiff who leak like sieves,” Gowdy finished up. “This never should have been made public and that’s why the president is upset. Not at what the intelligence community found, but the fact that Adam Schiff has a beeline to the New York Times when it is negative information about Donald Trump.”
