Robert Mueller thought he had Donald Trump trapped.
The special counsel launched a crusade to remove him from office.
But now Mueller just let the cat out of the bag on how he plans to impeach Trump.
Donald Trump Prepares To Answer Robert Mueller’s Questions
Donald Trump looks like he is ready to put an end to Robert Mueller’s probe.
The special counsel sent questions to the President about Russia collusion.
Trump will submit written answers.
This will avoid a fight over Trump fighting Mueller over a subpoena for a live interview.
But this is good news.
Mueller submitting questions to the President on Russian collusion means one thing.
His rigged witch hunt is nearing its end.
The special counsel’s last step would be interviewing the President.
Experts believe Mueller could wrap up the collusion investigation by early 2019 at the latest.
Trump told Fox and Friends he hopes this will be the case.
“Well, it seems ridiculous that I would have to do it when everybody says there’s no collusion, but I’ll do what is necessary to get it over with,” Trump said in a phone interview with the Fox News program.
Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow told Politico he would not comment.
“We have ongoing dialogue with the special counsel and we’re not discussing the contents,” Sekulow stated.
No one expects Mueller to present a report that finds any evidence of collusion.
Collusion was a fake news hoax invented by Hillary Clinton and the Democrats to make an excuse for her loss.
What Written Answers Mean
Trump supporters worried that Mueller wanted to interview the President to set a perjury trap.
But written answers avoid that nightmare scenario.
Mueller still wants to ask follow up questions.
But other experts noted that Mueller did not ask for written answers on obstruction of justice and Trump firing former FBI Director James Comey.
They believe this means Mueller is setting up for a fight all the way to the Supreme Court in forcing Trump to sit for a live interview.
Elie Honig – a former federal prosecutor – told Politico:
More notable, Honig added, is that Mueller for the moment isn’t willing to accept written responses on the obstruction front and may indeed be prepping for a legal fight that goes all the way to the Supreme Court.
“That suggests Mueller is committed to an in-person interrogation of the president, either by voluntary interview or by subpoena if necessary,” he said.
Trump supporters know this part of the Mueller probe is a sham.
There is no collusion with Russia, so Mueller will try to frame Trump for obstruction of justice.
But there is no reason for Mueller to interview Trump about firing Comey.
Mueller already spoke to White House counsel Don McGhan for hours.
He interviewed other White House aides.
Mueller knows Trump’s thought process from those interviews.
So the only reason to interview the President is because Mueller cannot obtain the information from another source.
That is clearly not the case in this instance.
