John Bolton’s claim that Donald Trump confessed to him that there was a quid pro quo for delivering military aid to Ukraine in exchange for investigations into Joe and Hunter Biden had all hell breaking loose.
Suddenly Republicans began to panic and insiders speculated that GOP traitors would vote for new witness testimony and possibly to convict the President.
In the wake of the leak, Republicans held this secret impeachment meeting. The result will shock you.
After the New York Times reported the manuscript of John Bolton’s book contained a claim that President Trump admitted to a link between military aid and investigations into the Biden’s Never Trump turncoats in the GOP Senate caucus raced to the media to signal their support for letting Chuck Schumer control a Senate trial by turning the proceeding into an even bigger farce by calling an unending parade of witnesses.
“It’s increasingly likely that other Republicans will join those of us who think we should hear from John Bolton. … I have spoken with others who have opined upon this,” Never Trump kingpin Mitt Romney told reporters. “It’s important to be able to hear from John Bolton for us to be able to make an impartial judgment.”
But in the wake of this RINO meltdown reports surfaced that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told his caucus to calm down and wait for the President’s defense to finish their opening arguments before even considering witnesses.
That proved to be a wise decision.
Harvard Law Professor – and Constitutional expert – Alan Dershowitz stole the show by forcefully arguing that even if President Trump proposed a quid pro quo as Bolton claimed that it did not rise to the level of an impeachable offense.
Republicans met behind closed doors once the President’s team wrapped up their defense and the mood had dramatically changed.
“The consensus is: That we’ve heard enough. And it’s time to go to a final judgment vote,” Wyoming Senator John Barrasso explained to the press. “We’ve all heard enough, and the articles don’t rise to the level of impeachable offenses.”
Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott declared that it was not the Senate’s job to conduct a fishing expedition on behalf of the Democrats in the House.
“This will never end..this is just like Kavanaugh. The Democrats are going to come up with something new every day to keep this going on forever.” Scott told Fox News. “We’ve got two more days of questions and answers. I believe that we’re going to make the decision not to ask for witnesses because it’s not our job to prove the House’s case.”
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham said he expected the trial to wrap up fairly quickly with a verdict.
“The president will be acquitted and I think it will be this week,” Graham speculated.
