Robert Mueller finally got his wish.
A whistleblower stepped forward to testify against Donald Trump.
And he handed over the smoking gun Mueller will use to impeach the President.
Mueller’s Case Gets A Boost
Former Trump attorney Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts of financial crimes.
Cohen also claimed that Donald Trump ordered him to make payments to women that violated campaign finance laws.
Anti-Trump journalists cheered the development.
They believed they finally found the evidence that would destroy President Trump.
However, Cohen was not finished.
Cohen’s lawyer Lanny Davis appeared on Rachel Maddow’s show and hinted Cohen would testify that Trump also colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election.
“I can tell you that Mr. Cohen has knowledge on certain subjects that should be of interest to the special counsel and is more than happy to tell special counsel all that he knows,” Davis declared.
“Not just about the obvious possibility of a conspiracy to collude and corrupt the American democracy system in the 2016 election — which the Trump Tower meeting was all about — but also, knowledge about the computer crime of hacking and whether or not Mr. Trump knew ahead of time about that crime and even cheered it on.”
“We know that he publicly cheered it on. Did he also have private information?” Davis concluded.
Davis also appeared on CNN and claimed Cohen would testify that Trump was part of a conspiracy to corrupt democracy.
“Michael Cohen has information that would be of interest to Mr. Mueller in his probe of a conspiracy to corrupt American democracy,” Davis stated.
Cohen is the first person to suggest Trump colluded with Russia.
However, Americans have reason to doubt this story.
Cohen is facing years in prison.
He will say anything to stay out of jail.
Laura Ingraham tweeted:
When a target is already in debt, threatened w/ decades in prison, never to be with his family again, most agree to sign whatever prosecutors put in front of him.

Mueller’s True Goal
Cohen telling the truth does not matter to Mueller.
Mueller’s goal is to prepare a report recommending Congress impeach the President.
The special counsel can use Cohen’s testimony to claim the Trump campaign worked with the Russians to steal the election.
But this could backfire on Mueller.
If Democrats win control of Congress in November, they will launch impeachment proceedings.
But Cohen destroyed his credibility by admitting a history of lying in his plea agreement.
One Trump White House official told Politico “…senior people tend to think that if Cohen made that statement in court, why wasn’t he able to get a deal?”
“You have Cohen’s word against Trump’s word, but it looks like Cohen’s word does not have enough credibility to get a deal, let alone to impeach,” the official concluded.
A simple majority in the House of Representatives can vote to impeach the President.
However, two-thirds of Senators must vote to convict.
There is little chance Mueller and his co-conspirators can cross that threshold.
