Texas RINO and anti-gun Senator John Cornyn just cut a deal with Democrats on the biggest gun control package in nearly 30 years.
Cornyn’s gun grab includes a near-total ban on 18- to 20-year-olds owning guns, red flag confiscation laws which allow the government to seize firearms with no evidence or due process, and closing the so-called “boyfriend loophole” which will allow the government to confiscate guns from anyone that had a bad experience on a date or an argument with a girlfriend from as far back as college.
Conservatives count on gun rights groups to fight against attacks on the Second Amendment.
The National Rifle Association bills itself as the largest gun rights group in the country.
That is a lie.
The National Rifle Association is – in truth – the largest pro-gun control organization in the country.
That’s because every time Democrats and RINO Republicans propose a gun control bill the National Rifle Association’s lobbyists work behind closed doors with the gun grabbers to restrict Americans’ Second Amendment rights.
In a closed-door Senate Republican Caucus meeting Cornyn revealed the National Rifle Association wrote the gun control bill including parts of the legislation that allow the government to strip away the ability to buy firearms from Americans of any age if they made a mistake as a kid.
An American in their 50s could lose their right to defend their family from home invasion because of something that happened when they were 10 years old.
POLITICO reports:
“Cornyn also used the slideshow to list provisions that were included in the bill at the request of the NRA, including money for hardening schools, mental health funding and providing exemptions to closing the so-called boyfriend loophole, which restricts the right to firearms for those who have abused their romantic partners. The exemptions highlighted include that limitations would not apply to past relationships unless they were recent.”
The National Rifle Association eventually released a three-paragraph statement about the bill which led off which parts the group approved of.
Cornyn later confirmed to reporters that the National Rifle Association helped write the bill.
“We worked with the NRA to listen to their concerns. But in the end I think they simply — they have a membership and a business model that will not allow them to support any legislation. And so I understand where they’re coming from, but I think most people will not allow any outside group to veto good public policy,” Cornyn told reporters.
As further proof that the National Rifle Association supported the bill the group refused to say if it would score the vote and drop the grades it gave the lawmakers that voted for Cornyn’s gun grab.
RINOs like John Cornyn depend on campaigning in primaries on the A+ rating the National Rifle Association bestowed upon them.
If the National Rifle Association won’t lower John Cornyn’s grade after supporting the largest gun control package in 30 years, it means the NRA only exists to provide cover to RINOs like John Cornyn when they vote to stab conservatives in the back.
