Not all Republicans are standing with Donald Trump.
That matters right now more than ever.
And Tucker Carlson went on TV and called out this terrible betrayal of Donald Trump.
Many in the Republican Party secretly despise Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” agenda.
Donald Trump’s core issue in the 2016 campaign and during his first four years in office was immigration.
The President proved that by restricting the flow of cheap foreign labor in America while cutting taxes and regulations so working-class Americans would see a boost in wages.
In the Senate, Utah’s Mike Lee undercut this policy by sponsoring legislation authoring H-1B visa green card giveaways for tech companies to import cheap foreign labor to take good-paying tech jobs away from American citizens by undercutting them on wages.
The legislation passed the Senate by unanimous consent meaning no Republican senator objected and forced the bill to break the 60-vote filibuster threshold.
Republican senators thinking of running for President in 2024 as the heir to Donald Trump’s populist coalition like Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton, Ben Sasse, Marco Rubio and Tim Scott all sat silently and allowed a bill stabbing the American worker in the back to pass.
Tucker Carlson ripped these Republicans for bowing to Big Tech’s wishes for cheap foreign labor as actual American citizens—tens of millions of which are still looking for work—get shut out of good-paying jobs they followed all the rules and studied for.
“We’ve known for a long time that Silicon Valley wants foreign workers to dominate our economy,” Carlson stated. “They don’t care what kind of effect that has on Americans. What’s surprising is that in a time of mass unemployment — and that’s what we have now, mass unemployment — the Republican Party of all people is helping them do it. That’s happening.”
“Yesterday, the Republican-controlled Senate unanimously passed a law called the ‘Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act.’ As if the problem with America is that we don’t have enough fairness for people from other countries. No concern about fairness for Americans,” Carlson added. “The whole process took a matter of moments. It was led by Utah Senator Mike Lee. And without any objections, passed it.”
What makes this Republican betrayal all the more galling is tech companies helped rig the 2020 election by censoring Donald Trump and suppressing bad news about Joe Biden.
Instead of standing up to Big Tech and pushing legislation to take away their monopoly privileges that allow social media companies to exercise editorial control over the content on their platforms, Republicans rolled and performed pet tricks for their Big Tech donors.
