Donald Trump is still furious over the 2020 election.
There is one Republican that Trump blames above all else.
And Donald Trump just won a huge piece of revenge against this Republican for his 2020 betrayal.
Joe Biden won Georgia by 12,000 becoming the first Democrat to carry Georgia’s 16 Electoral College votes since Bill Clinton in 1996.
But Trump and many of his supporters argue the contest was lost long before Election Day when Georgia Governor Brian Kemp entered into a consent decree after a lawsuit brought by socialist activist Stacey Abrams and the state Democrat Party weakened the ability of election officials to verify the signatures on mail-in voting.
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham went so far as to claim Abrams “conned” the state Republican Party into entering into an agreement that cut the GOP’s own throat on election integrity.
Trump and his supporters also blasted the use of ballot drop boxes as a pandemic emergency measure that many conservatives believed opened the door to illegal ballot harvesting.
In the eyes of many Trump supporters Kemp was asleep at the switch and allowed election changes favorable to Democrats to take effect that loosened mail-in voting rules that allowed Joe Biden to win Georgia.
For months Trump teased that he would support a primary challenger to Governor Kemp.
That finally came true when former Georgia Senator David Perdue announced his intention to run against Governor Kemp.
In his announcement video, Perdue claimed he was the only Republican that could defeat Stacey Abrams next November.
“I’m running for governor to make sure Stacey Abrams is never governor of Georgia,” Perdue stated.
Perdue cited Kemp’s strained relationship with Trump as a distraction that could cost Republicans victory in Georgia.
“To fight back, we simply have to be united. Unfortunately, today, we are divided, and Brian Kemp and Brad Raffensperger are to blame,” Perdue added.
Perdue laid the blame for the Republicans’ defeat in Georgia in the presidential election and two Senate runoffs in 2021 at the feet of Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger for rolling over for the Democrats’ proposed changes to elections.
“Look, I like Brian, this isn’t personal. It’s simple,” Perdue stated. “He has failed all of us and cannot win in November. Instead of protecting our elections, he caved to Abrams and cost us two Senate seats, the Senate majority, and gave Joe Biden free rein.”
Trump celebrated Perdue entering the race and released a statement blasting Kemp for failing to defend election integrity and knocking the governor as unelectable.
“Wow, it looks like highly respected Senator David Perdue will be running against RINO Brian Kemp for Governor of Georgia. David was a great Senator, and he truly loves his State and his Country. This will be very interesting, and I can’t imagine that Brian Kemp, who has hurt election integrity in Georgia so badly, can do well at the ballot box (unless the election is rigged, of course). He cost us two Senate seats and a Presidential victory in the Great State of Georgia,” Trump’s statement read.
