Democrats are trying to talk themselves into believing a challenging political environment is not really a threat to their power.
Former Congressman Trey Gowdy believes liberals are deluding themselves.
And Trey Gowdy had one warning for Democrats that is bad news for Joe Biden.
In a recent broadcast of his Fox News Sunday primetime show, Trey Gowdy interviewed California Congressman Devin Nunes about the recall election to remove the state’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom.
Nunes told Gowdy and the Fox News audience that no matter what happens in the recall, just getting the measure on the ballot and debating Newsom’s failures was a victory.
“Just getting these issues out in front of the people of California. So one thing that’s happened here is there is no real media. So the media out here in California is essentially, you know, the very few people that talk about this and the problems of California, Fox News, and a few other channels, but by and large, the media here is a propaganda arm of the socialist party. It’s how we ended up with a guy like Newsom who had never done anything in his life,” Nunes told Gowdy.
Nunes expanded on the problems facing the state from rising gas prices to energy shortages caused by disastrous so-called “climate change” policies that Joe Biden and the Democrats would like to bring to the rest of the nation.
“It’s real simple. Gas prices are $5 in many cases, highest in the country. We have power outages that continue to happen. We have fires that burn, and we’re out of water, by the way, because we continue to let water out in wet years, let it flow in the ocean. So all these things happening at the same time, and I think people are looking around, and they see Elder, they see signs, and look, he’s got momentum,” Nunes said.
Inflation is one of the issues dragging down Joe Biden’s poll numbers.
The situation does not look to be turning around anytime soon.
The New York Fed predicted inflation will remain far above the central bank’s target of two percent for the next several years.
American workers saw pay increases in 2021 as employers had to pay higher wages to compete with Joe Biden’s enhanced unemployment benefits.
That was the good news.
But the bad news was the fact that 5.4 percent inflation meant workers ended up seeing an actual pay cut as the rising cost of goods and services outpaced any paycheck gains.
It’s long been said that all trends start in California before spreading to the rest of the country.
Democrats are hoping that is not the case with inflation.
