CNN is collapsing.
Without Donald Trump to drive the ratings, the network is falling apart.
And now, CNN’s executives are weeping after this humiliating viewership report just dropped.
With CNN’s profit margin disintegrating at breakneck speed, executives with the network’s parent company are working to try and slash jobs and cut back on expenses in a desperate bid to turn the ship around and salvage CNN.
But despite their best efforts, the latest viewership report shows that CNN has dug itself a hole larger than anyone could have imagined.
And now, it’s unclear what exactly can be done to salvage the network’s ruined reputation and wilting audience base.
In the latest ranking for the first week of January, CNN barely reported half a million viewers, while Fox News almost tripled that number to 1.35 million.
And when it comes to the critical 8-11 p.m. time slot, CNN found itself dwarfed by Fox to the tune of over 1 million viewers.
The numbers reported here, which come out on a weekly basis, show that CNN is kicking off 2023 in a horrible way.
Not only has the network utterly failed to bring any of its audience members back after many of them bolted the second Donald Trump left office, but the network has so tarnished its reputation for being little more than a propaganda piece for the Democratic Party that even fewer are willing to give CNN a chance at all.
That’s because the American people know that when they watch CNN, they aren’t getting news so much as they are getting left-wing talking points designed to smear conservatives and amplify Democrats.
As a result, many have simply just cut the cord altogether and now get their news from the internet, while others have stuck to television, but now watch Fox.
And for CNN, both of these developments are humiliating for the network, which once prided itself on the fact that it was among the largest cable news outlets in the entire world.
But the glory days of CNN are long over, and with the network having established itself as the TV equivalent of The New York Times or Washington Post, it’s little surprise to see so many people scrambling for the exits.
In fact, the latest viewership catastrophe for CNN comes after the network experienced its largest ever drop in a single year.
In 2022, CNN found its audience drop by a staggering 33% from the year before, while the network lost an even greater percentage of viewers among 25-to 54-year-olds, with an astonishing drop of 36% of its viewership base within that key demographic.
Those figures amounted to the single worst performance CNN has ever experienced in its decades-long history.
And with 2023 showing no signs of that trend slowing down anytime soon, there is growing speculation that the network’s parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery, may end up cutting the cord themselves and abandoning CNN altogether in the near future.
