Joe Biden’s legacy is hanging on by a thread.
His greatest liberal accomplishment is now on the verge of total collapse.
And it’s all because the Supreme Court is about to turn Biden’s victory to ashes.
Joe Biden’s record has been a complete disaster.
Not only has he helped to trigger a major economic correction, but with inflation remaining near all-time highs, Biden is working to make the crisis even worse with a massive $400 billion student loan bailout.
By forcing the taxpayers to fork over the bill for hundreds of millions of dollars in student loans that someone else took out, Biden would be helping to feed the inflation crisis on an unprecedented scale.
But while liberal groups hailed Biden’s student loan bailout, that hasn’t meant that it is guaranteed to be enacted.
In fact, courts have already frozen the implementation of Biden’s plan, putting its fate in doubt.
And now, the Supreme Court just agreed to take up a lawsuit against Biden’s policy, and there is evidence that it could deal a crippling blow to the plan altogether.
Politico reports, “For President Joe Biden, deciding to cancel student debt might have been the easy part. Getting it done will prove to be harder.
“After a drawn-out, intraparty debate over the wisdom of forgiving student debt, Biden heads into the third year of his presidency — and a likely reelection campaign — fighting to keep his signature education policy alive.”
The biggest issue that Biden has when it comes to defending his student loan bailout is the fact that there are serious questions related to the constitutionality of Biden’s plan.
The president does not have the authority to forgive debt and force taxpayers to take it on.
And now, the Supreme Court is about to hear arguments against the plan, and could potentially tank Biden’s top agenda item altogether.
“The plan heads to the Supreme Court in February, where the conservative majority will weigh the legality of canceling up to $20,000 for more than 40 million borrowers. The Education Department approved some 16 million borrowers for the program but their relief remains in limbo as the court decides,” adds Politico.
If the Supreme Court ultimately strikes down Biden’s student loan bailout plan, it would deal a crippling blow to one of his greatest policy achievements from the last two years.
But more importantly, the Supreme Court would save American taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars in inflationary spending that would only fuel the economic catastrophe that has been playing out for the better part of the last two years.
“In February, Biden’s plan will go before a Supreme Court that’s already shown hostility to some of his other high-profile pandemic-era policies enacted through emergency authority. It struck down Biden’s workplace Covid vaccine rule and his administration’s extension of the eviction moratorium,” concludes Politico.
With the courts having already struck down other horrible policy items pushed by Biden, conservatives are cautiously optimistic that the Supreme Court could end up striking down Biden’s student loan bailout as well.
