And Rudy Giuliani made a surprising confession about the FBI going after Trump.
In an interview with Fox News, Rudy Giuliani tore into the FBI for staging a politically motivated raid of his home.
Giuliani stated that the FBI served a search warrant as part of an investigation into allegations Giuliani did not register as a foreign lobbyist when doing work on behalf of Ukrainian associates.
The former New York City mayor and former U.S. attorney explained that the FBI usually sends a letter requesting the target turnover documents as opposed to a show of force raid.
“Usually a person who has been a former assistant U.S. attorney, a U.S. attorney, a mayor, the associate attorney general, usually they receive a subpoena — not have their home raided,” Giuliani explained.
Giuliani added that the witch hunt into Trump crossed a major red line in the legal world as Giuliani was the third lawyer working for Donald Trump whose home or office the FBI raided.
“The only lawyers they raid are lawyers for Donald Trump. I can’t think of another lawyer that has been raided other than lawyers for Trump,” Giuliani added. “Trump is in a special category because he doesn’t have constitutional rights.”
The FBI continually tries to pierce the attorney-client privilege by launching fishing expeditions into Trump’s lawyers where they use a flimsy pretext to seize documents and devices from Trump lawyers in hopes of digging up incriminating evidence against Trump.
Giuliani told Fox News that the allegations he acted as an unregistered foreign agent were baseless.
“There is no way on earth that they could have anyone telling the truth that I was acting as a foreign agent,” Giuliani continued, “nor do they have any evidence that I tried to influence the government on behalf of clients.”
Giuliani added that the FBI and federal prosecutors are after him because they suffer from Trump derangement syndrome.
“They are beyond the ability to control their rational thinking or their decency, and they have a serious, serious ethical issue, driven by Trump derangement syndrome,” Giuliani told Fox News.
Trump’s personal attorney declared that this entire investigation was an attempt to frame him.
“They are trying to frame me,” Giuliani stated. “They are trying to find something they can make into a crime, some technical violation, some mistake I made.”
The Feds are after Giuliani for the same reason they prosecuted Michael Cohen, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort and Michael Flynn.
