Up until now, Donald Trump was the only candidate in either party running for president in 2024.
Trump just picked up his first opponent.
Nikki Haley has become the first Republican to challenge Trump in the 2024 primary.
Former South Carolina Governor and Trump administration U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley will announce her candidacy for president on February 15 in South Carolina.
The Post and Courier exclusively reports:
Cementing what has been in the works for months, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will formally announce she is running for president and will seek the Republican nomination for her party’s 2024 ticket, The Post and Courier has learned.
According to an invitation soon going out to her backers, Haley’s advertised “special announcement” will come Feb. 15 at the The Shed at the Charleston Visitor Center, a downtown gathering spot that could draw hundreds of supporters into the heart of the city’s tourism district.
Haley previously claimed in April 2021 that she would not run for president if Trump announced he was running for re-election.
“I would not run if President Trump ran, and I would talk to him about it,” Haley told reporters at a press conference at the time. “That’s something that we’ll have a conversation about at some point if that decision is something that has to be made.”
The one thing no one can understand is why Nikki Haley is running for president.
Haley is a card-carrying member of the Jeb Bush/Mitt Romney wing of the Republican Party that supports amnesty, the globalist agenda, and always cowers in fear when the corporate media attacks and smears Republicans as racist.
The one consistent aspect of Haley’s career is that she loves to showboat when caving to the woke mob.
When George Floyd died Haley posted on social media that the American people needed to feel pain and that the violent Black Lives Matter protesters were right to feel enraged.
“We spent the last couple of days celebrating our son’s graduation. Tonight I turned on the news and am heartbroken. It’s important to understand that the death of George Floyd was personal and painful for many. In order to heal, it needs to be personal and painful for everyone,” Haley posted on May 30, 2020.
Haley then doubled down on her support for the anti-American Black Lives Matter movement.
Despite the fact that Jussie Smollett faked a hate crime attack one year prior Nikki Haley readily embraced the hoax black NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace perpetrated in June 2020 by falsely claiming someone hung a noose from the garage door where he stored his race car.
These stories almost always turn out to be fakes within 48 hours, but Haley wanted to virtue signal for the corporate media and the left by posting pro-Black Lives Matter hashtags in support of Wallace.
“We should all stand with @BubbaWallace today against the cowards who secretly put the noose in his garage stall. Watch your back cowards. Bubba has a bigger army than you do. #HateWontWin #WeStandWithBubba,” Haley wrote.
Every cycle politicians delude themselves into thinking the American people want them as president of the United States.
The 2024 GOP presidential primary does not look like a welcoming field.
With Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis dominating the field there is little room for a woke acolyte from the Bush establishment.
