Democrats finally crossed the point of no return.
And this Democrat suspended the Constitution with one unthinkable order.
Gun-grabbers saw how, during the COVID pandemic, power-mad tyrants could essentially impose martial law by closing businesses, making it illegal to go to church, shuttering schools and locking Americans in their homes for indefinite lengths.
Conservatives warned that tyrannical politicians would seize on the precedent of declaring a public health emergency to extend these dictatorial powers beyond COVID.
That’s exactly what happened when New Mexico Democrat Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham went one step short of declaring martial law in her state.
Under the guise of a so-called “public health emergency” Lujan Grisham announced she suspended the Constitution and banned the Second Amendment in the city of Albuquerque for at least 30 days.
“Today I issued a 30-day ban on the open & concealed carrying of guns in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. Gun violence is killing between 2 and 3 children every month in NM – every single one of these deaths is unconscionable and they must stop,” Lujan Grisham announced.
Residents face fines and potential arrest if they exercise their Second Amendment rights within city limits for an undetermined period of time.
Governor Lujan Grisham admitted her order would do nothing to deter criminals and that she was just looking for an excuse to grab guns and wipe the Second Amendment off the books.
“I’ve warned everyone that we expect a direct challenge, probably as you’re writing this we’re getting a challenge, and that’s the way it should work. But I have to take a tough direct stand, or basically I’m just ignoring the fact that we lost an 11-year-old, another child,” Lujan Grisham added.
Lujan Grisham even went so far as to confess she knew her order was illegal and that she dared anyone to try and stop her from eliminating the constitutionally guaranteed right to keep and bear arms by unlawful executive fiat.
“The point here is, is that, if everyone did it, and I wasn’t legally challenged, you would have fewer risks on the street, and I could safely say, to every New Mexican, particularly those folks living in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, I believe that you’re safer for the next 30 days, we have to wait and see.”
Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina announced he would not enforce this order.
But Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen declared that his deputies would help the governor enforce the suspension of the Constitution.
“In conclusion, while we might not be in complete alignment with the Governor’s recent order, we remain steadfast in our commitment to work collaboratively, both with her office and with the community, to find sustainable solutions to the gun violence epidemic plaguing our county. It is through robust dialogues, open-mindedness, and the shared goal of a safer Bernalillo County that we will find our way forward,” a statement from Allen posted to social media.
For the last seven years Democrats cried wolf and claimed Donald Trump was a dictator who would impose autocracy on America.
Once again, Democrats were guilty of everything they accused Trump of as it was a Democrat governor who wiped away the Second Amendment to the Constitution.
