Nancy Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez renewed their rivalry.
This time Joe Biden is stuck in the middle.
And that’s because Nancy Pelosi picked a fight with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that made Joe Biden’s life miserable.
Labor Secretary Marty Walsh resigned to take the job as the NHL players’ union chief.
Biden passed over Walsh for the chief of staff position that came open when Ron Klain resigned following the State of the Union address.
Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reported:
Walsh emerged as a candidate for the position only within the last three weeks. Sources indicated Russell Reynolds was rebuffed by Walsh over multiple attempts to include him earlier in the process, but Walsh had a change of circumstance once he was not selected as Biden’s next chief of staff, one of the most powerful positions in Washington.
Nancy Pelosi lobbied Joe Biden to fill Walsh’s Cabinet post with close ally and former New York Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney.
“Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has been making calls on behalf of former New York Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney to be the next secretary of labor, urging the White House and labor leaders to support him, according to two sources familiar with the calls,” NBC News exclusively reported.
“Speaker Emerita Pelosi would love to see Sean Patrick Maloney continue in public service, including in the Administration,” Pelosi spokesman Aaron Bennett said in confirming the NBC report.
This news infuriated Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who sniped at Pelosi and Maloney on social media.
Couldn’t think of a more divisive candidate for the job! https://t.co/TJM51rZzWz

Ocasio-Cortez’s beef with Maloney dates back to the last election.
New York lost a congressional seat and redistricting led to multiple incumbent v. incumbent primaries.
One of those was in New York’s 17th Congressional District where Maloney ran against “Squad” member Mondaire Jones.
Ocasio-Cortez and other House socialists complained that Maloney could have picked any other district to run in after the court’s redistricting plan eliminated his old district and he did not have to take on one of their allies.
Maloney also served as the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee so Maloney decided how much money went into which races leading Ocasio-Cortez to claim Maloney stacked the deck in his favor by tapping the DCCC’s institutional support for his race against Jones.
In the primary, Maloney defeated Jones.
But Maloney lost the primary to RINO challenger Mike Lawler.
Pelosi is looking to resurrect a close confidant’s political career.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is none too happy.
And Joe Biden is going to have to make a decision that will upset one of the most powerful Democrats in Washington.
