House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is used to fawning media coverage.
Corporate media activists worship Pelosi.
But Nancy Pelosi just got called on the carpet by CNN for one surprising reason.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected two of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s picks to serve on the January 6 select committee.
Pelosi blocked Ohio’s Jim Jordan and Indiana’s Jim Banks from sitting on the committee because Banks and Jordan intended to ask questions about why Speaker Pelosi did not deploy a proper security presence on January 6 as well as the Democrats’ support for the Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots in the summer of 2020.
The House Sergeant at Arms – who reports to Pelosi – asked for the National Guard days before the January 6 rally.
Pelosi doesn’t want these questions answered because the committee is not really an honest investigation of the day’s events.
Speaker Pelosi and her allies want to keep the focus on Donald Trump and use it as a third impeachment proceeding to damage Trump in case Trump plans to run for president in 2024.
But Pelosi’s normal cheerleaders in the media were not happy with Pelosi blocking Jordan and Banks.
Minority Leader McCarthy pulled his remaining Republican selections from the committee declaring the entire effort a political witch hunt.
Pelosi’s normal cheerleaders in the corporate media reluctantly admitted McCarthy was right and that Pelosi handed Republicans a political gift.
CNN’s hopelessly left-wing activist Chris Cillizza wrote:
If you ever held any hope that the House select committee on the January 6 US Capitol riot might produce a report that would help us understand what happened in the lead-up to that day and, in so doing, provide us avenues to keeping it from happening again, you should give up on those hopes now.
The reason? Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision Wednesday to reject two of the five nominees — Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jim Banks of Indiana — put forward by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to serve on the panel.
Pelosi and the rest of the left want January 6 dominating American politics for the next 18 months.
One of few times the president’s party gained seats in the midterm elections came in 2002 when voters rewarded Republicans for George W. Bush’s response to the 9/11 terror attacks and handed the GOP control of both houses of Congress.
Democrats are looking to recreate that dynamic by hyping the 1/6 riot to be a white nationalist insurrection, and to cover up Speaker Pelosi’s failures on that day.
But Pelosi’s attempt to ensure that is the narrative surrounding the committee crashed and burned in the eyes of her closest allies.
