House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is once again in big trouble.
This is a mess all of her own making.
And that’s because Nancy Pelosi got caught red-handed breaking one law that is going to cost her big.
After the January 6 riot at the Capitol, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi imposed new rules to add to the siege mentality in Washington.
Pelosi imposed new rules requiring all members of Congress to pass through metal detectors to get to the House floor.
Anyone that ignored the oppressive security regime would see their pay docked $5,000 on their first offense and $10,000 on their second.
Pelosi imposed these metal detectors to single out Republicans that exercised their 2nd Amendment right to defend themselves as “domestic terrorists” and the “enemy within.”
“Just days after the assault, many House Republicans began disrespecting our heroes by refusing to adhere to basic precautions keeping members of our Congressional community safe—including by dodging metal detectors, physically pushing past police, and even attempting to bring firearms into the chamber,” Pelosi said in support of the metal detectors.
“It is sad that we have been forced to move forward with a rule change imposing fines on those who refuse to abide by these protections, but the People’s House must and will be safe, so that we can honor our responsibility to do the People’s work,” Pelosi added.
But just like this past summer when Nancy Pelosi was caught violating her state’s lockdown and mask mandates, Pelosi did not believe the metal detector rule applied to her.
That mistake became obvious when Republican Congressmen Barry Loudermilk, Rodney Davis and Bryan Steil fired off a letter to the House Sergeant at Arms detailing when Pelosi was caught not passing through the metal detectors and instructing the Sergeant at Arms to fine Pelosi $5,000.
“House Resolution 73 directs you in your capacity as Sergeant at Arms to impose fines against members of the House who fail to complete security screening prior to entering the House Chamber. The resolution, which went into effect upon passage of the House on February 2nd, imposes a fine for $5,000 for the first offense,” the letter read.
“It also directs you to promptly notify in writing of fines being imposed for violations of House Resolution 73. Yesterday, at approximately 9:59 am, multiple members observed the Speaker of the House entering the House Chamber without completing security screening. What was observed was a clear violation of House Resolution 73 and you are required by House Rules to impose this fine. Please inform us once the fine has been assessed,” the letter added.
There is also an open question as to if Pelosi’s scheme to fine members for not passing through metal detectors is even constitutional.
The 27th Amendment prevents Congress from changing their pay structure in the current Congress.
“No law, varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives, shall take effect, until an election of representatives shall have intervened,” the 27th Amendment reads.
Pelosi installed these metal detectors to instill fear and add to the climate on the left where the government was declaring a war on terror against the 75,000,000 Trump voters and their elected representatives.
The metal detectors were intended to send a message that Republicans are dangerous insurrectionists and America requires special protection from the threat they pose.
Instead, Pelosi got caught breaking her own rules and proving that this was always a partisan stunt designed to score cheap points.
