Nancy Pelosi is facing a deteriorating political situation.
The news is even worse than Pelosi thought.
And Nancy Pelosi fled D.C. for a retirement home with these devastating poll numbers.
Democrats took it on the chin when voters repudiated the Biden administration’s radical socialist agenda by electing Republicans to every statewide office in Virginia.
Historically, the Virginia elections serve as a bellwether for the following year’s midterm elections and the GOP sweep signaled a red wave building across America.
In the wake of the Virginia defeat, realization set in on the left that their majority in the House of Representatives was doomed.
Nancy Pelosi sent that signal with her actions.
Pro-Trump pundit John Cardillo posted on social media that several friends of his witnessed Pelosi house hunting for a likely retirement home in Florida.
“Hey @SpeakerPelosi, if Florida is so horrible why did several friends of mine see you house hunting, maskless, in the Hobe Sound area last week?” Cardillo wrote on Twitter.
Pelosi’s trip to Florida came just before USA Today and Suffolk released the devastating results of their new polling.
USA Today and Suffolk found that Republicans held a significant eight-point lead over Democrats on the question of which party Americans would rather see controlling Congress.
“If the election were today, those surveyed say, they would vote for their Republican congressional candidate over the Democratic one by 46%-38%, an advantage that would bode well for GOP hopes of gaining a majority in the House and the Senate. In a president’s first midterm election, his party usually loses ground, and this time the GOP needs to flip just five seats in the House and one in the Senate to claim control,” USA Today wrote about their poll.
Republicans holding a 46 to 38 percent lead over Democrats was bad enough.
But more worrisome for Democrats was the fact that Republicans led this early in the election cycle.
In the 2010 and 2014 Republican midterm landslide wins, the GOP did not take the lead on the generic ballot until much closer to the election.
When Democrats are set for big midterm election cycles – such as 2006 or 2018 – their lead in the generic ballot shows up almost as soon as the Republican president is inaugurated.
Republicans holding an eight-point lead over Democrats one year before the midterm elections suggests a wave on par with the 1994 and 2010 Republican landslide wins is well within the realm of possibility.
Americans turned on Joe Biden.
No president in modern history saw their approval rating collapse as quickly as Joe Biden.
The USA Today/Suffolk poll found just 38 percent of Americans approved of Joe Biden with 58 percent disapproving.
The answers as to why the floor fell out from underneath Biden are obvious.
Biden campaigned as a centrist that would restore competence and normality to American politics.
Instead, Biden botched the withdrawal from Afghanistan, opened the border to 1.7 million illegal aliens to invade the country, supported trillions in socialist spending that contributed to rising inflation, and imposed tyrannical COVID vaccine mandates.
Democrats received the first hint that Americans were not on board with this radical agenda in the Virginia elections.
And now Nancy Pelosi is absconding to Florida to look for retirement properties ahead of the Democrats’ potential loss of the majority in the House of Representatives.
