Former Vice President Mike Pence continues to take steps towards a political comeback.
The number one question on everyone’s mind is if Pence will challenge Donald Trump for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.
And Mike Pence left everyone talking with a stunning four-word answer.
Pence delivered a speech at the University of Virginia that made headlines for the fact that a woke mob attempted to cancel Pence and stop the speech from ever happening.
The cancel mob failed and Pence delivered his remarks as scheduled.
During the question and answer session a student asked Pence about his 2024 plans.
“I was just wondering if you’re planning to run in 2024 for president,” the student asked Pence.
Pence’s response did nothing to tamp down the rumors that Pence is prepping for a White House campaign regardless of what Trump does in 2024.
“I’ll keep you posted,” Pence shot back.
Mike Pence dropped all the markers of a potential presidential candidate.
Pence’s first public speech after leaving office in 2021 was in the pivotal primary state of South Carolina.
Former Vice President Pence also formed political committees to endorse candidates and promote Pence’s vision for the GOP.
And Pence recently released the “Freedom Agenda,” a manifesto that effectively serves as the policy agenda for a Pence presidential campaign in waiting.
Mike Pence’s only path back to power is running for president.
Donald Trump’s made it clear he is done with Mike Pence.
In an interview with the Washington Examiner, Donald Trump confirmed the worst-kept secret in Washington is that he would not select Pence as his running mate again if Trump is the 2024 GOP presidential nominee.
Trump explained that his supporters would not stand for Pence on the ticket in 2024.
“I don’t think the people would accept it,” Trump told the Examiner.
Trump explained that he and Pence developed a fine working relationship but it all ended on January 6 after Pence refused to send certified Electoral College results back to the states as Trump claimed Pence had the authority to do.
“Mike and I had a great relationship except for the very important factor that took place at the end. We had a very good relationship,” Trump added. “I haven’t spoken to him in a long time.”
For his part, Pence finally broke in public with Trump on January 6.
At first, Pence said he and Trump would never see eye to eye about what happened that day.
In a speech to the Federalist Society, Pence went even further saying Trump was wrong to suggest Pence had the power to reject Electoral College results on January 6 declaring Trump was “un-American” for believing the vice president could overturn election results.
Those comments did not endear Pence to Donald Trump and large numbers of Trump supporters.
And if Pence truly is planning on challenging Trump in 2024 the two will have a chance to debate the matter for GOP voters.
