Former Vice President Pence wants to run for president in 2024.
But Donald Trump is also weighing a comeback bid.
Mike Pence had all hell breaking loose with this sign he would challenge Trump.
Former President Trump told Sean Hannity that he was “very seriously” considering a presidential comeback bid in 2024.
But that isn’t stopping Mike Pence from laying the groundwork for a presidential campaign of his own.
Pence published an op-ed on the Heritage Foundation’s Daily Signal website savaging the Biden administration for setting the crisis on the southern border in motion by adopting open borders policies and rhetoric.
“On his first day in office, Biden suspended nearly all deportations nationwide, shut down construction of the border wall, reinstated catch and release, canceled the Migrant Protection Protocols, and proposed amnesty for millions of illegal aliens currently residing in the United States. Not long after that, the Biden administration announced it would allow unaccompanied minors to enter the country,” Pence wrote.
In addition to illegal aliens pouring into the country in numbers not seen in 15 years leading to Biden jailing a record number of illegal alien kids in cages, Pence described the humanitarian crisis as cartel smugglers treated the children like chattel dumping them over the border like sacks of meat and leaving them to fend for themselves.
“Smugglers are dropping toddlers from atop 14-foot-high border barriers, leaving children as young as 3 to fend for themselves in the wilderness. Tragically, children and adults have drowned trying to cross the Rio Grande. American citizens living near the border have become victims of burglary, theft, and worse,” Pence added.
Pence noted that the President of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador called out Biden’s open borders message—during the campaign Biden said if he won he would dismantle Donald Trump’s successful border policies—for the surge of illegal aliens rushing the border.
“Expectations were created that with the government of President Biden there would be a better treatment of migrants. And this has caused Central American migrants, and also from our country, wanting to cross the border thinking that it is easier to do so,” President LópezObrador explained.
Despite what Pence says publicly, he and Donald Trump do not have a good relationship.
Trump still blames Pence for not rejecting the certified Electoral College results from states that Trump claimed were tainted by massive fraud.
Pence points to the Constitution and said his role in the January 6 joint session of Congress was just to announce the results and that he had no power to overturn any state’s vote count.
Both Trump and Pence are seriously considering 2024 presidential campaigns.
Pence is pushing full steam ahead and not waiting for Trump to make his decision.
And it could lead to an awkward confrontation between the two.
