Earlier this year Rush Limbaugh announced doctors diagnosed him with stage four lung cancer.
Limbaugh recently gave a tearful update on the progress of his battle against the disease.
And now Megyn Kelly had something unexpected to say about Rush Limbaugh’s cancer.
Rush Limbaugh did not want to make his fight against cancer the focus of his top-rated radio program.
But Limbaugh promised updates as they were warranted.
And recently Rush Limbaugh revealed the difficult news that his cancer was terminal.
“And at some point you can decide, you know, this medication may be working, but I hate the way I feel every day. I’m not there yet. But it is part and parcel of this. It’s tough to realize that the days where I do not think I’m under a death sentence are over. Now, we all are, is the point. We all know that we’re going to die at some point, but when you have a terminal disease diagnosis that has a time frame to it, then that puts a different psychological and even physical awareness to it,” Limbaugh stated.
Limbaugh got emotional during his explanation of his prognosis and teared up.
Conservative talk show host Michael Savage did not approve and claimed Rush should “leave the stage with dignity”.
“Limbaugh’s crying about his cancer on air! Worst 15 minutes in radio history! Spilled a large coffee all over counter and floor. I PROMISE MY AUDIENCE THIS- I WILL NOT DRAG YOU DOWN WITH ME! Best wishes RUSH, but stop and leave the stage with dignity,” Savage wrote on social media.
That tweet led to Megyn Kelly firing a harsh rebuke at Savage for criticizing Limbaugh’s emotionally sharing the status of his cancer diagnosis.
“I think I speak for, oh, pretty much everyone when I say STFU you absolute douchebag,” Kelly shot back at Savage.
There is no doubt that Rush Limbaugh is responsible for conservative media.
Limbaugh’s radio show –which began on August 1, 1988 – made conservative media possible.
There would be no Fox News, Breitbart, Daily Caller, or any other conservative news outlet without Rush Limbaugh.
Limbaugh’s trail blazing also made it possible for outsiders like Donald Trump to win the Presidency by setting up an alternative media structure that exposed a mass audience to conservative views and challenged the liberal media’s left-wing narrative and framing.
In the update on his health, Limbaugh said his focus on treatment was to extend his life for as long as possible.
Limbaugh deserves respect and empathy in this difficult time.
And it showed the respect Limbaugh has across the media that even Megyn Kelly would slam anyone that would criticize Rush for the manner in which he discusses his illness.
