Megyn Kelly became famous in cable news for feuding with Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.
That sent Kelly’s career on a downward spiral.
And now Megyn Kelly had a surprising reaction to the Trump-Biden debate.
The second presidential debate was a vastly different affair than the initial Trump-Biden faceoff.
In this debate, the moderator did not act like a member of the Biden campaign.
And President Trump did not allow Biden to bait him, interrupting Biden.
The post debate reaction was much different as well.
After the first debate, even some Trump supporting media personalities thought the President had a bad night.
But after the second debate, Republicans up and down praised the President’s performance and declared him the winner.
That even extended to the President’s critics.
Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly praised President Trump’s performance and went so far as to say it was a clear and decisive win for the President.
“Trump won this debate, handily. Biden wasn’t a force at all. Trump was substantive, on-point, well-tempered. Definitely helped himself, when it mattered most,” Kelly posted on social media.
President Trump saw Kelly’s praise and thanked his former rival.
“Thank you Megyn!” President Trump wrote back to Kelly.
President Trump and Megyn Kelly did not always have such a warm relationship.
At the first Republican Party presidential debate in Cleveland back in 2015, Kelly opened the debate with a takedown question aimed at Donald Trump over his supposed “crude” comments about women.
Trump dismissed Kelly’s gotcha question by cracking a joke about longtime nemesis and radical left-wing actress Rosie O’Donnell.
After the debate Donald Trump ripped Kelly’s performance on social media.
“Wow, @megynkelly really bombed tonight. People are going wild on twitter! Funny to watch,” Trump wrote in the aftermath of the debate.
Trump attacked Kelly again after Kelly took an unannounced vacation following the controversy and Trump’s refusal to appear on Fox News over Kelly’s treatment at the debate.
“I liked The Kelly File much better without @megynkelly. Perhaps she could take another eleven day unscheduled vacation!” Trump posted on Twitter.
The feud culminated when Donald Trump skipped the final debate just days before the 2016 Iowa Caucus because Kelly was set to moderate and Fox News refused to remove her.
A significant portion of the Fox News audience turned on Kelly and early in 2017 Kelly announced she was jumping to NBC for a reported 69 million dollars.
Kelly’s news magazine show bombed and was quickly canceled, and the Today Show viewers and staffers disliked Kelly because they thought she was a typical Fox News conservative.
NBC fired Kelly after social justice warriors lost their minds over Kelly’s comment about Halloween costumes and as Kelly makes her media comeback, she appears to be trying to get back in the good graces of her former Fox News audience.
