Democrats can’t handle the fact that polls are showing Donald Trump is a favorite to defeat Joe Biden.
The panic is causing a sense of desperation that is like nothing Americans have ever seen.
And what this Hollywood celebrity said about Trump will leave you speechless.
Univision’s Enrique Acevedo conducted an interview with Trump that triggered the left.
Acevedo asked Trump questions and let Trump respond.
This used to be called journalism.
But now it enraged the left.
Actor John Leguizamo – who starred in “Super Mario Bros.,” “Casualties of War,” and the “John Wick” franchise – went on “The Daily Show” and complained that Acevedo didn’t call Trump a racist.
“Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with Univision interviewing Trump. In fact, I thought it would be a dope opportunity to confront him on his hardline anti-Latino policies. But instead of an interview worthy of Univision, we saw this caca mierda,” Leguizamo declared.
Leguizamo’s entire basis for calling Trump a racist is that Trump wants a wall to secure the border.
Other liberal media outlets like Puck complained it was a “softball interview.”
And the Congressional Hispanic Caucus threatened Univision with a letter demanding a meeting so members of Congress could bully network executives into serving as an arm of the Biden re-election campaign.
“The network prides itself on the trust the audience places in their journalists and years of fair and accurate reporting,” the letter states. “Circumstances surrounding the interview with former President Trump have given the appearance that the company has not upheld these standards.”
Democrats are looking at polls like The New York Times/Siena survey of Trump leading Biden in five of six swing states and winning 46 percent of the Hispanic vote and see the problem as the press not calling Trump a racist enough or not slanting their coverage in favor of Joe Biden to the degree that is necessary.
TelevisaUnivision CEO Wade Davis responded with a memo saying the network wouldn’t bow to any partisan agenda and that it would continue with its mission to provide neutral coverage of the news to inform and not indoctrinate the audience.
“We will reject all efforts to destabilize this vision, including from partisans within the press or the political machinery. Univision is not a tool of any party or organization. Univision is an independent news organization, and we will not be deterred by partisan interests and agenda-driven advocacy,” Davis wrote.
“We made a decision to adopt a strategy that is different than what some other major networks are using, which has been labeled as partisan. Univision’s news strategy is one that is non-partisan and objective, and we serve our audience by being welcoming of competing issues, ideas, candidates and parties,” Davis added.
Liberals freaked out over Mexican media company Televisa purchasing Univision in 2021 and shifting the network from a partisan operation under anchor Jorge Ramos to an actual news organization that covered stories.
Ever since Donald Trump won in 2016 news outlets now openly act as partisans and believe their job is not just to report the news, but to tell Americans what to think about the news.
Journalists do this by providing “context” for politicians’ statements and world events.
“Context” is nothing more than filling a story with the Democrat Party’s talking points and spin on events.
But the American people are wise to the game the press is playing which is why polls show trust in the media is at its lowest point ever.
Univision’s management rejects the notion that the media’s job is to determine what the correct view of the world is supposed to be and that their job is to report what happened and let the audience make up its own mind as to what they want to think.
That flies in the face of the mindset on the left which now openly admits every institution must work in service of advancing the Democrat Party’s political project.
