The 2022 midterm election cycle did not turn out the way anyone on the right hoped.
But the worst was yet to come.
And Laura Ingraham delivered Trump supporters some tragic news that they are going to hate.
Laura Ingraham was not happy with the news that Herschel Walker lost his challenge to Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock.
The corporate press ignored Warnock’s numerous scandals surrounding being a slum lord and a contentious divorce and child support fight with his ex-wife.
But on her show Ingraham pinned the blame on establishment Republicans who she felt abandoned Walker.
“We felt this coming,” Ingraham began. “To me, it never felt like the Senate Republicans wanted this guy in office. He was a Trump pick and they didn’t like that.”
Ingraham then expressed bewilderment that Republicans intended to keep the same party leadership – Mitch McConnell in the Senate, Kevin McCarthy in the House, and Ronna McDaniel at the Republican National Committee – in place despite a disastrous midterm performance where the party lost seats in the Senate and in governors’ mansions.
“We don’t change anything,” Ingraham stated. “We have the same people in place in leadership, same people in place apparently at the RNC, perhaps that’s not changing. But we just keep doing the same thing over and over again. I’m pissed tonight, frankly. I’m mad.”
The day after Ingraham’s comments former New York Congressman Lee Zeldin – who ran a great campaign and came within six points of ousting New York Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul – announced he would not challenge McDaniel for RNC chair as the establishment rigged the contest in McDaniel’s favor.
“RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel should not run for a 4th term. I won’t be running for RNC Chair at this time with McDaniel’s reelection pre-baked by design, but that doesn’t mean she should even be running again. It’s time the GOP elects new leadership! It’s time for fresh blood!” Zeldin wrote on Twitter.
Ingraham’s guest, The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway, ripped RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell for depressing conservative voter turnout by stabbing the base in the back.
In the month between the November 8 election and the December 6 runoff Mitch McConnell helped Democrats ram through a national homosexual marriage mandate and dumped billions of dollars into Joe Biden’s reckless proxy war with Russia.
“It’s really offensive for Republican voters, for Republican donors,” Hemingway declared. “I mean, you look at what happened since the midterm elections where you had a Senate that basically responded to those disappointing midterm losses by doing nothing other than sabotaging their own base. What is the case for voting Republican for the Senate after these midterms? I don’t think one was even attempted to be made. And yet, nothing seems to be changing.”
Approximately 200,000 fewer voters turned out for Walker in the runoff than the general election and Hemingway argued it was Mitch McConnell’s fault for giving voters no reason to want Republicans checking Democrats in the Senate.
