Joe Biden’s responsible for the biggest embarrassment in American foreign policy history.
Now his own team is making his problem even worse.
Kamala Harris went to the one place on earth that is bad news for Joe Biden.
Back in July, Joe Biden assured Americans that when the U.S. military left Afghanistan there would be an orderly withdrawal and the scene would not resemble the fall of Saigon in 1975 where panicked South Vietnamese scaled the walls of the U.S. embassy to escape the North Vietnamese communists taking over the country.
Photos of helicopters evacuating American diplomatic staff and South Vietnamese refugees off the roof of the embassy became a symbol of American decline in the 1970s.
Biden claimed the Afghan army could beat back the Taliban without American might propping them up.
Within days Biden proved to be a delusional liar.
The Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in a weekend as helicopters evacuated American embassy staff and panicked Afghans scaled the walls of the Kabul Airport to try and cling to U.S. military cargo planes flying out of the country.
Video showed people plunging to their deaths from thousands of miles up in the air as they fell off the planes they clung to in a final desperate bid to live.
Biden pulled the military out and abandoned at least 10,000 American citizens hiding in their homes as the government could not protect them if they tried to flee to the airport.
Traditionally, a vice president is supposed to defend the president and absorb some of the heat.
But not in this case.
Kamala Harris did not appear in public to defend Biden from the corporate media, Republicans and even some Democrats that blasted Biden for the disaster playing out on his watch.
Instead, Harris created another optical nightmare by traveling to Vietnam, the sight of the only other American military debacle comparable to Biden.
Fox News reports:
The timing probably couldn’t be worse for the Biden administration. On Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled to embark on a trip across the Pacific that will include a stop in Vietnam.
The trip – which will be Harris’ second outside the U.S. since taking office – comes as the current crisis in Afghanistan has drawn many comparisons to the end of U.S. involvement in Vietnam in the 1970s.
This week’s scenes of crowds gathering at Kabul’s airport and U.S. military helicopters arriving to pick up passengers at the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan’s capital revived grim memories of desperate Vietnamese people trying to board U.S. helicopters as they left the embassy in Saigon more than four decades ago.
Harris traveling to Vietnam will force news outlets to run photos and videos from the fall of Saigon and compare it to the collapse of Afghanistan.
The vice president traveling out of the country also gave the impression of no one minding the story.
Joe Biden’s handlers kept Biden in hiding on vacation save two brief speeches where Biden refused to take questions from reporters.
Americans began to question if Biden’s advisors kept Biden out of the public eye because he was going through an episode of senility where if China saw Biden in public in a decrepit state, it would only embolden them to seize Taiwan.
Harris fleeing the country led to the logical question of who was in charge while up to 40,000 Americans hid in fear as Taliban soldiers hunted for them to take them hostage or even worse.
