Kamala Harris and Joe Biden barely settled into office.
But now there is a major problem that threatens to derail everything.
And Kamala Harris is about to be replaced because of what one jaw-dropping poll shows.
As the Vice President, Kamala Harris has the ability to cast a tie-breaking vote in a 50-50 Senate.
Democrats passed Joe Biden’s nearly two trillion dollar blue state bailout bill because Kamala Harris broke the tie as every Senate Republican voted against this big government boondoggle.
But Democrats may not be able to count on Harris for long as Harris may lose her ability to cast a decisive vote.
That’s because Republicans need to flip just one Senate seat and multiple polls show Republicans well-positioned to oust two Democrat incumbents in next year’s midterm election.
In Georgia, legendary University of Georgia running back and strong Trump supporter Herschel Walker leads Democrat Raphael Warnock 48 percent to 46 percent.
Trafalgar Group founder Robert Cahaly reported the results as:
47.7% @HerschelWalker
45.5% @ReverendWarnock
2.5% Other
4.3% Und
The Trafalgar Group poll shows that Warnock leads the two other Republicans who are the most discussed options to run for the seat.
Trafalgar finds Warnock leading Collins 46 to 45 percent and former Senator Kelly Loeffler—whom Warnock defeated in the January 5 runoff—by five points 46 to 41.
Georgia GOP strategist Chip Lake explained why Walker—who won the 1982 Heisman Trophy and led the University of Georgia to the school’s only national title in 1980—would be a formidable candidate.
“If he truly has an interest in running for U.S. Senate in Georgia and representing our party and our state, I would hope he would move back here and have meetings with activists and people in the community and make the case that, ‘Hey, this is something I want to do and I’m ready for what’s going to come my way,’” Lake stated.
Trafalgar tested Walker’s name because Donald Trump already essentially endorsed Walker.
Former President Trump emailed a statement to the press declaring that Walker would be a great candidate and Trump would like to see Walker run.
“Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the legendary Herschel Walker ran for the United States Senate in Georgia? He would be unstoppable, just like he was when he played for the Georgia Bulldogs, and in the NFL. He is also a GREAT person. Run Herschel, run!” Trump’s statement read.
If Trump endorsed Walker early it would likely clear the primary field and allow Walker to build a war chest and train his message on Warnock as opposed to fending off other Republicans.
But the GOP doesn’t have to put all their eggs in one basket to flip the one Democrat-held Senate seat necessary to win back the Senate.
In New Hampshire, polls show popular Governor Chris Sununu leading Democrat Senator Maggie Hassan 47 percent to 41 percent in a hypothetical matchup.
The political environment in midterm elections favors the party out of power as they usually gain seats.
That historical trend combined with strong candidates in at least two states has the GOP well-positioned to win back the majority in the Senate and deprive Kamala Harris of the ability to cast tie-breaking votes to advance Joe Biden’s agenda.
