Kamala Harris is expected to take over for Joe Biden at some point.
Democrats are increasingly nervous over that prospect.
That fear only grew when Kamala Harris froze up with terror over this question about Ron DeSantis.
Joe Biden will be 82 years old by then and his already noticeable cognitive decline may only deteriorate by that point.
That could lead to Biden stepping aside to allow Harris to carry the Democrat Party banner in the 2024 campaign.
On the Republican side, polling and conservative activist buzz place DeSantis as the favorite for the nomination should Donald Trump not run for a second term in 2024.
Americans got a brief preview of what a DeSantis-Harris presidential matchup could look like when Harris traveled to Jacksonville to sell the supposed benefits of the nearly two-trillion-dollar blue state bailout bill.
Left-wing commentator Nate Monroe of the Florida Times-Union interviewed Harris after the photo op and served up three opportunities to attack DeSantis on a silver platter.
Monroe begged Harris to slam DeSantis over DeSantis rejecting the COVID hysteria and conspiracy theories promoted by Harris and other Democrats about mask mandates and lockdowns.
DeSantis kept Florida’s economy open and rejected mask mandates while at the same time seeing Florida have a lower unemployment rate and better COVID numbers than big states like California and New York that wholly embraced the fear mongering and locked their citizens down and forced them to wear masks.
Harris whiffed on every occasion and fumbled her chances to go after a rival.
“One of the reasons I’m here and back in Jacksonville … is to remind people of the importance of getting the vaccine when it’s your turn,” Harris stated.
Monroe tried one more time, asking if Florida needed to do more to “combat” COVID.
“We all need to do more around the country,” Harris answered.
Harris also falsely claimed the science was on her side.
“I think it’s important that we speak truth to the American people with the spirit of making sure they are safe and healthy. And what we know and the science tells us without any dispute or ambiguity is wearing masks saves lives,” Harris added.
Harris refused to engage with DeSantis for one simple reason—Harris did not want to elevate Ron DeSantis to the position of leader of the Republican Party.
The second a president or vice president engages with a governor or senator by name, a president or vice president elevates that person to being their equal.
And Democrats are already afraid of Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis is a popular governor of the biggest battleground state in America who turned in a COVID success story by rejecting lockdowns and mask mandates.
The Democrats’ fear over DeSantis manifests itself in the number of hit pieces the fake news media churns out trying to tarnish his performance in managing the coronavirus pandemic.
And that fear over DeSantis as a 2024 candidate is why Kamala Harris wanted no part in a fight with Ron DeSantis.
