Kamala Harris’ position as the future leader of the Democrat Party grows more in doubt every day.
Joe Biden’s failures and tanking poll numbers also took their toll on Harris.
Kamala Harris could lose her job to this Hollywood megastar.
Former WWE Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the highest paid actor in the world.
Over the last five years Johnson banked $403 million starring as the leading man in the blockbuster “Fast and Furious,”“Jumanji” and “Jungle Cruise” franchises.
Now it looks like Johnson sees Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ declining political standing and is sizing up a presidential run.
It’s always been an open question as to what party Johnson belongs to; he once spoke at the 2000 Republican National Convention, but in 2020 Johnson endorsed the radical and violent Black Lives Matter movement as well as the Biden-Harris ticket.
Johnson told Vanity Fair that he conducted “a small amount of research and analysis to see where this comes from and to see what it could look like in the future” and that “indicators are all very positive—in, for example, 2024, and in, for example, 2028.”
Either way, Johnson does not believe that Kamala Harris is a formidable political foe.
A Hollywood actor challenging a sitting vice president would normally be viewed as the theater of the absurd.
But polling data shows Harris as the most unpopular vice president of the last 50 years.
Harris’ failure as border czar to bring the illegal immigration crisis to a close combined with her disastrous 2020 presidential campaign has many Democrats worried Harris does not possess the chops to take on Donald Trump – or any Republican that wins the nomination – and win.
Johnson sounded out his pitch to voters claiming that he would run as an outsider with the leadership qualities to unite the country.
“You know, at the end of the day, I don’t know the first thing about politics. I don’t know the first thing about policy. I care deeply about our country. I care about every fucking American who bleeds red, and that’s all of them. And—there’s no delusion here—I may have some decent leadership qualities, but that doesn’t necessarily make me a great presidential candidate. That’s where I am today,” Johnson told Vanity Fair.
A new poll of Democrat Party insiders shows an increasing number of elites would welcome a candidate other than Kamala Harris.
A Punchbowl News survey of Democrat Party staffers on Capitol Hill found the number of Democrat Party pros that think Kamala Harris would be the Democrat nominee for president if Joe Biden declines to seek re-election in 2024 plunged 22 points in one month.
Punchbowl News exclusively reports:
The likelihood that Vice President Kamala Harris is the Democratic nominee in 2024 if Joe Biden doesn’t run is sharply lower than last month.
58% of Democratic staffers say Harris is the most likely 2024 nominee if President Joe Biden doesn’t run for reelection. This is down 22 percentage points since our last survey. 14% said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. 3% said Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT.), and 17% voted “other.”
Democrats do not view Harris as a strong candidate.
And Dwayne Johnson is clearly prepping the ground to run for president.
Johnson’s show on NBC, “Young Rock,” is premised on Dwayne Johnson running for president in 2032 and looking back on the major events in his life that forged him into the man he became.
Now the only question seems to be when – and not if – Johnson pulls the trigger on a presidential campaign.
